Review 1 of 9

Price Paid:  $500.00 from on line

Summary:
This is my first digital camera, ( I own six 35 mm, and a twin lens reflex.) I have gone to digital almost exclusively since purchasing this camera. It operates as easily as a point and shoot. In fact it even has controls mounted the same as my Pentax point and shoot 35. Easy to use with a fairly well written book. Buy your radio from a radio company, and your camera from a camera company.

Strengths:
Ease of use, great optics, brilliant colors, camera company quality.

Weaknesses:
As with all point and shoot type cameras, the flash unit is pitiful. Can''t see screen to check results in bright light.

Customer Service:
Has not been needed so far.

Summary:
I wasn't sure I wanted a digital camera, but felt the need to at least try one. I'm a Pentax fan, so I naturally thought of them first. I read reviews, and this camera, for the money, seemed to meet my needs. I just downloaded my first set of pics, and WOW, was I impressed. Great meter, easy to use and has a few manual features if you're feeling really frisky. It's a great camera for someone entering the digital market--not too pricey, but gives a solid performance.

Strengths:
Lots

Weaknesses:
Yikes, does this thing eat batteries.

Review 3 of 9

Summary:
I was blown away by the results I received from my camera, and the printed pictures far exceeded my expectations. The results that have been noted as 'negative' by other reviewers I have also received, however I believe that like any SLR camera 'Every Picture is not going to be Perfect' and until you fully understand your camera and how it reacts in certain conditions your results will vary. Remember your first camera, give it time. I have found battery consumption to be acceptable using good quality rechargeables, as with any of today’s technology you get what you pay for. Good quality Pentax lens with easy to use controls / features. Can both point and shoot or go manual. USB feature great, however not a lover of Adobe software and feel a software package with a digital photo album would be a stronger addition. I have since bought a 32meg card as the 8meg supplied did not allow me to take many pictures with out downloading to a PC. This is my first digital camera and I see myself in the future staying on this path. The ability to take as many photo’s as you like of the same subject to get that ‘perfect photo’ without taking the ‘I hope attitude’ more than out ways any of the negatives. Would recommend this camera for purchase to anyone who has realistic expectations of a 2.1 meg/pix camera.

Strengths:
Quality build Picture Quality Lens Easy to use

Weaknesses:
8meg memory card No Ac Adapter No Camera case Adobe

Review 4 of 9

Summary:
For the price, you can't find a 2+megpixel camera with 3X zoom and USB cnnection that looks and feels and handles like a good 35mm camera. Great for people making the change from film to digital. This is a Digita OS camera. You can write scripts to make the camera do things that the factory didn't include. This is one fun camera!

Strengths:
Look and feel of 35mm camera. Easy to understand and use. Excellent pictures. Firmware upgradeable via net! 3X Zoom. Compactflash (not Smartmedia). Uses AA batteries (easy to get NiMH).

Weaknesses:
Should come with 16mb compactflash, not 8! Lens should not extend when in PC mode.

Review 5 of 9

Summary:
I just sold my fuji digital camera so I could upgrade... Well after intense shopping I chose this camera and now wish I had stuck with my 1.5MP camera. Oh well, live in learn from internet shopping. On the outside. it has the best bang for the buck, which was what sold me. However, after taking some pictures inside my house I was extremely dissappointed!

Strengths:
Lots of bells and whistles Great flexibility Takes great outside pictures Also takes good inside pictures of inaniment objects

Weaknesses:
- Eats batteries for breakfast - Takes poor inside/low light pictues of people (adds an extreme yellow/orange tint aurora to peoples faces.

Similar Products Used:
Fuji MX 500 1.5MP digital camera

Customer Service:
Somewhat helpful. They updated the firmware on the camera. Inside pictures of people have improved, but I'm still somewhat dissappointed!
