Model Reviewed: SMCP 67 165mm f/2.8 Summary: Well built lens, great for travel / scenics. In spite of disadvantages (minimum focus distance), it's capable of making beautiful portraits. Reasonably priced, especially when purchased used. Strengths: An useful and small telephoto, in my opinion not too heavy at all. It balances well on the camera. Use the smaller apertures when best sharpness is wished for. But, even at f2.8 it renders beautiful, especially when photographing people. Great lens when used for scenics as it is capable of showing finest details in distant subjects. Weaknesses: The minimum focusing distance is too long for portraits. That's a pity as the 165mm seems specially made for this use. Similar Products Used: Nikon af-lenses, Zeiss-lenses, Leica M-lenses, Pentax 645 FA-lenses, Mamiya 7-lenses. Customer Service: Sometimes a bit arrogant. When used for reparations (damage on body 67II), it takes a long time for repair.
