from Melbourne, Australia Summary: I love it when I first bought this camera. Pictures were nice for me. Design is handsome. Even now, when people sees it, they say, nice camera. After travelling to several places in groups, I realized even very cheap cameras can give out much better picture quality than this given the same shot. This becomes obvious especially when everyone poses for group shots and had the tour guide use everyone's camera to take the shot.
Even beach shot doesn't give much sharpness and vivid colors. Forget about using zoom. Sharpness degrades further. It can yield satisfactory result in low light as long as you switch the mode to night.
Close distance photography can't be done. It will be out of focus. But there's a workaround. Step back, zoom in.
The lens at a minimum of 48mm is almost always a pain in taking group pictures. While everyone takes out their camera, aim then shoot; mine is, take out the camera, aim, move backward, aim, move backward, aim, then shoot. This camera made me realize how nice it is to have a 35mm lens.
The viewfinder is very difficult to look at. People who used my camera often had a hard time looking through the lens. This often makes me lose a candid shot.
It's easy to use. I like the feel of its shutter release button, zoom level. Switch modes can be difficult to turn sometimes. Especially in cold weather or wet weather.
Never tried panoramic shot. This is one of the most useless feature in cameras.
It's also bulky. Although light-weight. Strengths: - handsome look
- has zoom that comes in handy if you need it in once in a blue moon requirement shot.
- shutter button has a nice feel Weaknesses: I've said enough from the review summary. I don't wish to add more to the list. Similar Products Used: Canon Demi, Olympus SLR Customer Service: So far no problem yet. Still functions as new.
