Strength:

Weight, price, sharpness.

Weakness:

Quirky front element that can come off if your not careful.

I like this lens a lot. Fairly sharp images and reasonably priced. Not as sharp as my 8mm f2.8 AIS Nikkor, but not bad for this price point. Much lighter, also.

Strength:

True 180 degree image
Very little cromatic aberration

Weakness:

Softer than other 8mm lenses
Weak auto focus, even on my N80

Although this lens must have a place in the world of photography I couldn't find it. The image was softer than the Peleng and the auto focus didn't work well enough to justify the price difference (almost 3 times greater). When you're looking at a 22mm spot all the shapness you can get is important.
If you need to have the auto focus this is a good value, if you're looking for a sharper picture check out the Peleng, if you have alot of money to spend hunt down the Nikon.
