Price Paid:  $225.00 from Target

Summary:
Just like another consumer who posted, my camera also was great for 6 months and then for no reason an internal error occured (E:61:10). In order to fix it, Sony wants 171.00! That's not much less than what I paid for it new! Never again will I buy from Sony!

Review 3 of 71

Price Paid:  $450.00 from on-line

Summary:
At first, I was hesitant to spend almost $500 for this camera, but it has turned out to be one of the best purchases I've ever made!!! I've taken it on a 2 week trip to Europe (over 500 pictures!), several trips to Yosemite, Monterey, Tahoe, etc, and a recent trip to Florida (over 300 pics). I have a 64m, 32m, and an 8m Memory stick, the included 4m was useless. I love the LCD screen, swivel, and ability to manually control f-stop and exposure length... awesome battery life, and great pictures!!!!

Strengths:
ability to change settings (f/stop, exposure time) video feature is fun RELIABLE! durable

Weaknesses:
LCD screen hard to see in sunlight

Customer Service:
never needed! (knock on wood)

Review 4 of 71

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:
I have used it in -15degC and it worked fine. But after one year of not-heavy-use, the power on/off button stopped working. Now I can only power on/off the camera by taking the battery in or out.

Strengths:
Long battery life I like the LCD design

Weaknesses:
besides all those people have metioned here, the power on/off button is dead for my camera.

Similar Products Used:
Kodak, Olympus counterparts

Customer Service:
I wrote a letter to Sony Canada to complain about the problem. Never get back an answer.

Review 5 of 71

Price Paid:  $599.00 from Good Guys

Summary:
While it works, it's pretty nice. Easy to use, fast when turned on, vivid pictures in optical zoom. I took more than 3 thousand pictures, but one day she died with a E:61:00 error. As in Brazil Sony have no support, the camera now is reduced paper weight :(

Strengths:
- Easy to use - Fast recording - Fast turn on - Superb battery autonomy - nice resources to beginners - robust construction

Weaknesses:
- lack of viewfinder - weak flash - heavy - poor digital zoom

Similar Products Used:
- Minolda DiMage - Sony Cybershot S85 - Sony Cybershot P9

Customer Service:
Not available in Brazil.
