Summary: I am generally satisfied with the camera, takes good pictures and is fun to use. You always have film and you don't have to wait months to use it up to get it developed. Strengths: Easy to use. Menu not cluttered easy to follow.
Floppy Disc memory and Memory Stick good choices for me. You can alwys get a floppy disc someware if you need one. Large LCD screen. Weaknesses: Slow processing the picture, LCD screen not bright enough in bright sunlight, have to keep the back light on. Can not take an action shot. The manual is bad. This is my first experience with digital stills, taken lots of 35mm pix with good cameras. Tme manuals that I got with the 35mm cameras explain more about action and results. I still don't know what resolution to use. The manual is not printed on good paper and will not hold up after much use. The manual is too big to fit in the accessory camer case for the Mavica camera. No optical view finder. Too many Mavica models with one not being much better than the other. The MSRP is too high for this camera. Similar Products Used: I have tried the Olympus FD490. Good camera no USB connector down loading takes a little longer. The optical view finder was too small and the diopter would not adjust far enough for me. Customer Service: Not much help. I enquired about the LCD screen not being bright enough in the sunlight to determine if this is normal. I did not get an answer except if I thought I and a problem to send it in for repair. I still don't know if this the norm for this camera.
