Review 1 of 18

Price Paid:  $68.00 from Ebay

Summary:

I really love this camera. It's my third digital camera and it's really great. The pictures come out super clear...even in macro mode which I am totally new to using. It's very easy to use the menus and change the settings and all that. I didn't even have to read the manual to figure out what to do. The pictures are wonderful.

Strengths:

It's super sturdy but compact in size. Easy to use and the pictures look better than some I've seen from pricier cameras. The LCD is bright and you can see everything very clearly displayed. It doesn't take long to turn on either.

Weaknesses:

Battery life is really bad if you use regular alkaline batteries. Maybe 30 minutes. But using rechargeables seems to work really well. They will last like an hour or two. And the Sony battery is even better I'm sure.

Customer Service:

I got this camera used on ebay and haven't had any troubles with it so far. =)

Review 4 of 18

Price Paid:  $399.00 from Circuit City

Summary:

Sony almost always make reliable products with the right features for decent prices. This is the case with this digital camera. It has good features, all of which work well with the camera (flash, mpeg, zoom). Remember that all Sony media products use their proprietary "memory stick" technology. This can be a good thing if you have a lot of Sony devices (because you can interchange memory between devices)or a bad thing because the cost usually higher than flash or mmc cards.

Strengths:

Very clear, concise pictures. The image quality is excellent for a 2MP camera. The size of the camera is perfect. It's substantial enough to feel like a camera in your hands, but small enough to fit in your pocket.

Weaknesses:

Accessories are a major Sony weakness. They almost never include anything with their already inflated prices. This means you will have to buy an AC adapter for around $35 in addition to the camera if you want to save your battery life. Keep in mind that battery life of a pair of alkaline batteries is about 5 minutes. I'm not kidding. Don't even think about using regular batteries in this camera because you'll just be throwing your money away. It's best to buy a set of recharable batteries (unfortunately not included either).

Customer Service:

Sony customer service has always been good.

Review 5 of 18

Price Paid:  $299.00 from Best Buy

Summary:

I really like this camera. It was my first digital camera and so far am pleased. The quality of the pictures (as long as you only use the opital zoom) is very good. I really don''t mind the 4 mb of ram because it helped me get used to the camera. I ended up getting lots of extra ram anyway (about $300 worth of it). The AC power adapter is nice so that you can edit pictures on your camera without wasting the battery life. The battery life is bad, so I strongly suggest that you purchase a rechargable battery pack. It last about 2 hours withou the LCD screen on. So expect to spend more then what you thought you would have to (I spent about $700 total).

Strengths:

The quality of picture, the ease of use, the megapixels, the convenience

Weaknesses:

Battery life, to get it to work efficiently you have to spend a lot on accessories
