This unit seems to do most everything well (enough) for most situations. I've shot indoors using poor to good lighting, outdoors both towards and away form the sun, at twilight and at night. The 20x zoom is very nice - smooth and fast or slow as you choose. Stabilization is good. The battery power (std. battery) seems good to me - upwards of 2 hours available when fully charged. The night light works up to a few feet and is better than nothing. Control is limited but, for my usage, not missed.
The low cost and reasonably small size tempt me to take it along frequently whereas a more expensive unit would probably stay at home for fear of theft, breakage or loss. Strengths:
