Review 1 of 2

Price Paid:  $769.00 from B & H Photo

Summary:

This is an excellent little camera. The video and sound quality are outstanding! Nightshot and the super steadyshot are great. I have a mount to mount this camera to my mountain bike helmet. I use the wide angle lens and with the steady shot, it's a really smooth looking video even though I'll be riding over rough terrain. The camera is a snap to use. You can easily figure out how to use the basic functions without instructions. The touch screen LCD is WAY cool. I compared this camera to JVC's, Samsungs, you name it. Sony camera's are the best. It's a snap to use. My only complaint is the video and photo editing software that comes with it. Plan on getting something else for software. The still photos are only 1 mega pixel, and aren't as good as my Sony DSC-F717 digital still camera with 5.2 megapixels. But I didn't buy a video camera to take pictures. If you want to take good photos, get the F717. It's an excellent camera. The batteries on the F717 and the PC105 are the same too! For the money, this is THE best camera in its price range!

Strengths:

Exceptionally well built, outstanding video and sound, touch screen LCD, battery life, ease of use, small and lightweight.

Weaknesses:

Software sucks

Similar Products Used:

Old analog JVC beast I had to prop up on my shoulder.

Customer Service:

Haven't needed it!

Review 2 of 2

Price Paid:  $920.00

Summary:

Well it's my 1st digital videocam and I really enjoy its video and still quality, plus its features and compact size.

Strengths:

Size does matter!!!I also like the USB streaming:great manipulation when hooked to the PC.The flash is a good FILL-IN plus for still shots

Weaknesses:

It's not a high-end, so don't expect much when viewing it on large 100hz screens nor when blowing the size of the still digital pictures.

Similar Products Used:

None.

Customer Service:

Not needed so far!
