Strength:

Very good sharpness in the middle, contrast, colours. AF relatively fast. Can be used for digital and analog SLRs. For analog SLR it is superwide lens (17mm). Decent build. Lens hood added. Not to large, light, fast (2.8).
Not expensive (comparing to the Canon lens).

Weakness:

Very large filter size (77mm). Protruding lens, good filter UV is desired, and it is expensive. Have to be carefully selected, there are examples of minor quality.
IQ on the rand of photos weaker and visible CA, but easy to repair.

I have purchased this lens after over one year of using. Here in Poland Tamron give only two years of warranty.
It is for me very good lens. With EOS XTi photos are OK and even CA is easy to repair (in Camera Row).

Customer Service

Warranty in US 6 years.
