from PC Conection Summary: The 1100 works great for reflective material, but just doesn't measure up when scanning 35mm slide or negative film. You'll get your best scans if you have a lab print a small 4x6 print from your film, then scan the print, but that defeats the purpose of the slide adaptor doesn't it. If you want high-quality prints larger than 4x6, spend your money on a dedicated film scanner. It actually does a decent job scanning 6x6 or 6x7 medium format transparencies, and a good job scanning 4x5. The included scanning software, Magicscan 4.5, is weak. Strengths: Excellent scanning results for reflective materials. Good results with large format film scanning. Weaknesses: 35mm film scanning, negative scanning at all formats, and the bundled software. Similar Products Used: Many others.
