Strength:

great capacity. It is amazing on how much gear and other stuff can fit into this little bag. It looks very inconspicious. Just like a book bag. It keeps its value.

Weakness:

Yeah I wish it had a better belt and a thinner pad in the back maybe a some reinforcement in the sides and the bottom (?) but over all these are minor complaints. Mine did not have provisions for the tripod, the new models do. I wish it was 1 inch deeper. Longer lenses have to be laid down using up more space then needed. Maybe a couple of side pockets for water bottles.

I had this bag for over 4 years. It has been around the world with me. The amazing thing is that its still looks fairly new. Very durable.

Customer Service

never used it.

That was my first back pack. Now I use LowePro Rover Light. Its a little bigger and addresses most of the complaints I had with the Mini.

Strength:

Solid, very solid material. Many places for littles things. You can arrange your bag the way you want.

Weakness:

Too much padding in the back, during the summer it''''s become very hot.The design of the bag is made for placing the camera up,and it''''s not good for the balance. Not enough place for things like, extra sweater, or something to drink..it''''s not a bag for little picnic, or a day off holiday.

Very good little bag.Everytings can be put in order inside, just the way I like..

Strength:

The sheer amount of kit it holds in such a small volume! Water resistant, dirt repellant and so protective (I fell down a 20 foot embankment, perhaps I wouldnt have broken 3 fingers if I had been inside!)

Weakness:

As has been pointed out, the tripod has to be removed for the bag to open. Could do with a few extra film pockets?

This is my first rucksack and, my goodness, what a difference! Instead of those uncomfortable one strap shoulder bags, I can now have my gear evenly distributed! I got this product in the January sales, and thought it was the bee''s knee''s! It holds my SLR, 10 films, 100 batteries, filters, 2 lenses and a teleconverter, and my flash, including off camera mount and power grip. And, of course, the tripod! (Essential for those gorgeous Scottish landscapes!)

Strength:

small, good ergonomics and enough space to carry my entire holiday/ daypack equipment.

Weakness:

The tripod holder is a plus, but it is in the wrong spot. You have to remove the tripod before you can open the bag.......

This is a great bag. It carries two slr''s (1 small one and one with a battery holder), 4 lenses (24, 50, 85 and 70-210 zoom) and lots of film and other stuff i think i need (such as a sweater, bottles, etc.. I guess the price is right.

Strength:

Construction, lots of pockets, price is good also.

The Mini Trekker is a great backpack. It''s a little overkill for me because the only camera I carry in it (for now) is the Olympus C-700 Ultra Zoom! But I have all kinds of room. I can carry a side of beef in it or several cases of motor oil because there are not many accessories for this type of camera. Really, if I ever get lucky enough to have a D1 or something else in that range of a camera I will be ready! I like all of the pockets and construction of it also. When I am not carrying a tripod I use the tripod pocket that folds down to store things in it also. Just remember to fold it back up! I also carry one of Lowepro''s "big" catalogs (not the little brochures) in the pack to look at and see just how much this bag will really carry! Dream on! Bought it at B&H Photo with very good service from them.

Strength:

Affordable price! Well designed light weight bag Able to fits in many equipments

Weakness:

The tripod strap

my very first camera bag. I manage to pack it with 2 bodies, 2 lens, 1 flashlight and other acessories with no problem at all. After all the equipments are packed into the bag, it might seen heavy, but i some how feels comfortable when i carry it on my back, credits to its high quality design. A waterproof bag? I tested it out in the heavy rain, and not a single drop of rainwater leak into the bag! But the tripod strap can be improved if it is design at the side of the bag, rather than in the centre. Overall performance - A must-buy bag for all travel photographers.

Strength:

Many pockets, well padded, good price c/w other brands, tripod bungy strap

Weakness:

side pockets would be nice as using the front outside pockets with a tripod attached is next to impossible.

I have used LowePro stuff for a long time but I''ll say this backpack is the best pack I''ve come across. Some complain its small but I can cram an EOS body with a 70-200/2.8, 28-70/2.8, 28-80/3.5-4.5,Speedlite 420, and other sundries. Not bad for a pack that feels nice on your back....just for the hard core people, I was also able to tie on a Bogen 3201 with a 3465 ball head! HEAVY but well balance for short walks!

Hey, guys! Do you know Mini Trekker's got a new version? I've ever used my friend's old version Mini Trekker. But I was not satisfied since there's no place for tripos. The new version's got a tripod attachedment at the center of the pack. And also, it adds an additional waist belt. I bought it with no doubt. A great improvement over original Mini Trekker

too small for long torso- if you are very tall, beware- the hip belt fastens around my waste

Great bag for the money. Perfect size for day trips inot the woods. Takes a beating. Also the perfect size for a carry-on on a plane.

Model Reviewed: Mini Trekker Backpack

Strength:

Excellent size. Big enough for a pair of bodies and five lenses. Nice, large outer pockets provide flexibility. Good carry-one size for air travel. Excellent quality.

Weakness:

An attachment point for a tripod at the center of the pack would be nice. The shoulder straps would be better if they were wider and more contoured.

This pack carries as much equipment as I would personally ever carry into the field. It's well made and mine has held up nicely through three years of use. The main section dividers are well designed to allow maximum flexibility in layout for your equipment. The large outer pockets are big enough to carry a binder or notepad if you're working in the field and they're room enough for a light jacket or miscellaneous photo gear.

Although you can strap a tripod to the sides or bottom of this pack, I've found a tripod strapped there can interfere with arm movement. I would prefer attachment point on the center of the pack. Contoured shoulder straps would make it more comfortable to use on extended hikes.
