Strength:

These cases show no wear at all after I've been using them on a daily basis for years. My digital cameras, lenses and projectors are always safe within Porter Cases. The fact that it becomes a wheeled carrier for all my other items is just as important. Truthfully, I feel as if I would not be doing half the things I'm doing are going half the places I'm going had these cases not been a part of my travels. On a daily basis they are my constant companions. I rest easy knowing that I don't have to worry about my equipment. I rest easy, too, because there is absolutely no strain at all when going from one place to another.

Weakness:

I might suggest a label be affixed to the outside of the cases. "This side up for wheeling." If you own the case you know which side is up. When anyone trys to help you, they inevitably try to wheel the cases the way other cases work - wheels on the other side. This is a minor problem, because I seldow allow others to take charge of my delicate equipment. Other than that, I feel as if the cases are designed with the user in mind.

Porter Cases: Porter Case has kept me working, travelling and enjoying both. The ease with which I travel through airports with both of my carry-ons, transport all my cases from one area to another with no strain to my BACK or ARMS is completely due to the Porter Cases that I've owned for the last three years. EVERYONE is astounded when they see these cases in use. I should have a handful of cards to give out each time I'm in a public place. Everyone loves them. Even airline stewardesses marvel how easily they go up and down the aisles!

Customer Service

I have seldom needed service on the Porter Cases that I have owned. The few times that I have asked for service have been mostly for cusomizing the inside of my cases. The service was prompt and effectively completed. I can't imagine anything on the exterior needing service, but I'm sure that if it does, it will be well handled.

This is the exact case I would design for myself, if I could. The best at any price! Fits on airline overhead. I own 5 of them for my cameras, computer, data projector, and personal stuff.

Strength:

Strong, well designed, and very functional. Good for travel and storage.

Weakness:

won't work on stairs, still nothing else does either to my knowledge

We use this thing whenever we travel, by commercial air, or automobile. Normally we keep our camera gear in it, but the dividers can be easily removed, and we've kept slide trays and other sensitive materials in it when the mission was different. I've rolled this thing all over the streets and sidewalks of Chicago where the surface is really poor. It shows no wear from this. This is clever device that professionals will like. It is a bit spendy for the casual non-professional to try, but I'd bet would be popular with other travelers too, if they travel enough.

Strength:

The product is made to carry a real load. The fold out design is not for eyewash. I regularly exceed the 200 pound rating by stacking all of my lighting equipment and trade show display and clothes until you can hardly see over it. I've dragged it up and down over curbs and ridden the stairs down by letting a loaded porter case slide down the steps below me as I leveraged behind it. I often travel alone and I have no other alternative but to carry the gear with me. My load has occationally been nearly 300 pounds and the porter case handled it. A big plus is the ability to lock the handle in the porter position. When you have a heavy load you often need to go forward into small elevators and the handle would other wise fold down. The extra stability the dual handle locks offer while handling a heavy load is unparalleled. Also the large platform the porter case offers in its' "porter" position makes stacking odds and sods or large heavy items easier than the fold up carts with a metal frame but otherwise open. Through the years the porter case has gotten even stronger. For example many years ago the wheels were plastic with rubber tires (which I crushed on one of those days curb jumping with 200-300 pounds, oops) I was please to see he was now using a solid rubber (maybe poly- something) with a very strong wheel bearing molded in. My first porter case have been with me on over 100 trips including many after said repair to todays standards. I provide one for any of my staff who are required to travel. I now have a few models with different padded inserts or no insert as my original was. I couldn't travel without one. Usually I put my soft brief case with notebook computer inside the porter case and can carry it on. You would have to see the expression as I later stand at baggage claim, first I unfold my carry on and that is amazing enough. Then I start grabbing all of my equipment cases (they are very large and weigh in just under 70 pounds each (sometimes they are over but don't tell the airlines)) All together with my background for the booth, two equipment cases and a week's worth of clothes/ I know that the load is well over 200 pounds. It all stackes up, I tilt it back and roll out the door. I love the porter cases.

Weakness:

The porter cases I have purchased recently have the stronger wheels and case design. They have new hardware that solves any issues I would have had with my old one. I wish they made a giant porter case although they are a little pricey theses days after having owned a few (still) I will only buy these. Often though when I show someone and say, "they are only about $200-$300" they say oh-no. That's only because they have not yet become addicted. I wonder how much I would pay in tips to have all of that gear moved around for me. Perhaps I could pay that in a few visits to my chiropractor from trying to carry the gear.

As a professional who often works alone and must carry a lot of gear, I couldn't travel without one. Especially in Europe where the valet options and bell men are not as standard as in US Hotels and airports. After someone becomes accustom to the back saving features of this case will always appreciate it.

Customer Service

As I said, either I or the airline have damaged the cases though gross negligence and abuse. Still repairs were quick and reasonable.

Similar Products Used:

I have used many of the folding carts. None have the large platform of the porter case. Many rub the wheels with a big load. One brand only lasted about a half mile ( less than a day with my load). The Reming Carts were limited and cost me an extra piece of luggage or carry on. Only the porter is an effective case and cart. Other cases with wheels don't fold down and don't give me the strength to load a lot onto them. Some of my big cases have wheels of their own but to try and push them looks as if I trying to heard cattle as they each drift around ( anyone who's tries pushing three or more of anything knows what I mean). The porter is the most efficeint way from here to there with a bunch of gear to move.

Strength:

I have had the Porter Case Two since its first year on the market and now own the latest version the compact Elite. Extremely dependable, unobtrusive as it draws very little attention to me or my equipment it protects. Excellent airline carry on especially with its optional piggy back Shopping Bag.

Weakness:

Too bad when you can use it as a chair it does not come with arms... some of these airline waits can be a very long time!

I swear by them that I tell all my friends and I
even have given them Kudos at my supervideo.com web site as well. Highly recommended.
They have earned & deserved each Star!

Customer Service

Strength:

Invalueable when lugging around lots of equipment. I have stacked lots of weight on this case and it just keeps working.

Weakness:

I have sheared off two of the rubber feet when I put it in the overhead compartment on airplanes. I need to be more careful I'm sure.

If you fly at all, or lug around tons of equipment, this is worth the investment. I have a weakness for cases and this one has been a great purchase. I use it all the time and it has saved me tons on bellman and porters.

Customer Service

Wonderful! I e-mailed them and asked for replacement rubber feet and they came within a week to my home. That is great service.

Strength:

Peace of mind, knowing my equipment and valueables are well protected. Very tough.

Weakness:

Doesn't make me my coffee in the mornings.

It is a real life saver, especially when traveling with several heavy, bulky cases. I am able to load them all on my PorterCase. They all become one unit that can easily be wheeled around. Traveling can be stressful, the PorterCase has eliminated one of the biggest stresses for me. Anytime I travel, the PorterCase is there, even when it is non-photography related. I put my most valuable items in the PorterCase and am able to carry it on the plane with me. The PorterCase is something I strongly believe in.

Strength:

Strong, holds what I need in organized fashion, gives me ability to travel with equipment I might have left behind otherwise.
I LOVE my PorterCase!

Weakness:

I haven't found any.

As a woman in photography, traveling with cameras and computers, it's essential to have cases that I can physically manage. Portercase is the perfect answer for me - and I can haul everything else on it because it can be used as a luggage cart without concern for the equipment inside. That is a real bonus!!

Customer Service

Excellent!
