Strength:

convertible, compact, hippack makes it an easy access to your stuff. Metal joins.

Weakness:

Don't think anything beyond nikon 180/2.8 (5.7inch tall) can go in this bag. no room for kodak pro photoguide if you use it as just hippack.

This is a good bag with the look and feel of a hippack but can be used as backpack/daypack, and a shoulder bag(optional belt required) and/or hipack with a should belt with the D rings provided. The daypack area is pretty big for storing a raincoat+ food etc stuff. I have a nikon n80, 50/1.8, 100/2.8 macro, 180/2.8 with a coolpix950. All go in this bag easily with some room left for aditional zoon or a flash.
Its not very expensive bag with good utility. It doesnot provide any tripod support as its too small as a backpack. I carry my bogen 3401 on shoulder. I would recommend it highly for my kind of gear.

could be a bit bigger

Great price. Looked for a bag to take to Costa Rica, but I didn't want a back pack. Yes, this can be a backpack if needed, but it is primarily a hip pack.
