Strength:

easy to use, light weight, small, convenient, sound & quality are great.

Weakness:

the manual is a mess, the driver I still have not figured out, nor the slide show.

I am very very pleased , however I know the camera has more available options that I have not yet figured out.

Strength:

Relatively simple to use, if you skip reading the manual.

Weakness:

Instruction manual is not written in logical sequential steps. 120 pages and it has you jumping all over just to get started. Canon technical support was rude.

Nifty little camcorder, but don't buy it if you are a beginner and expect to figure out how to use it by reading the instruction manual.

Strength:

Mic, A/V inputs. Very good image quality, solid feel and good ergonomic.

Weakness:

This model come with 800mAh battery, while more expensive (ZR50) have 1200mAh. A second battery is almost a must.

First impression is the very good human interface. Fit very well in hand, this sold it to my girlfriend. Then the video quality (when there is plenty of light) is impressive for the price. Canon offer a wide angle adaptor (WD-30.5) which I buy with the camera, allowing better indoor and close distance shooting. Good zoom range (18X) which is still powerfull egnouh with the 0.7X in place, and well stabilized. Mic + A/V input (rare at this price rance). In general more quality and less features, which is exactly what I was looking for. I do not miss the flash card interface, which is $100 more (ZR45). A very good choise if your plan is to edit the material in the PC (software not included).

Customer Service

Pre-sale eMail technical service accurate and responsive (Canon Canada).
