    Strength:

Great for taking stills from video footage small size with lots of neat features good basic software package good quality video compared to VHS and Hi-8 High speed video is good slow motion analysis

    Weakness:

color isn''t as true as I would like image stablizer doesn''t help much in zooms how do I get the stills off the memory card

I bought this camera primarily for capturing skiing and golfing outings and for the digital picture capabilities. I have found it very useful for both. The high speed video requires very bright light, but can be an effective way to analyze your golf swing. Use a tripod. I primarily use the camera for skiing. There are plenty of features on the camera and the picture quality is very good compared to VHS and hi-8. Getting stable images when zooming is sometimes dificult. Comared to the Sony DCR10, the colors aren''t as good but the JVC is smaller and easier to use with more features and a better still image capturing system. Sony uses a different technology and a carl Zeiss lens that helps with the color. I spent a considerable amount of time researching cameras and I found that this one seemed to rank the best and offer the most overall for my needs. I also can''t seem to figure out how to get the stills off the memory card....but this is probably a function of my technical savy and older computer
