It is a good camcorder esp it compactness. Some JVC models have come out with CDD defect and the GR DX95 is one of them. Mine went distorted picture after two years which is practicaly the same problem as when it says LENS CAP on. JVC has accepted the defect and is repairing them free in some countrys.
After six months i have taken mine out to have it repaired as the country I bought it from is now accepting the defect

    Strength:

Small, most controls easily accessable with thumb.

    Weakness:

My video screen went black and the camera thinks the lens cap is on. It keeps displaying "lens cap" with the lens cap off and no matter what the lighting.
There seems to be more than just my occurance, as there is one on ebay at the moment with the same problem. I have taken it in to get it fixed and they want $340 to fix it!
There is one on refurbdepot.com right now for $279.95 in factory sealed box with all new supplies/accessories.
Don't know if I would buy another one now though. Who knows how long it will last?
Mine is only 2 years old.

    Love all the features
