...Cats-eye-See in the Dark--Light Settings Pickup. SOUND, {BOOM} Great Pick up, Everything! Eyepiece Adjusts. 2 Hr Battery Lasted about 6 Years. Bought 4..

Weakness:

Buttons too Close: When hold, Need Left Hand, Hits IR light, Gamma/Brighter Buttons. Better if Imprinted Deeper. Hand-Held Strap Broke, Very Hard to Hold. 5-6 yr Batteries, Now, 10 mins each. Otherwise,

I mounted, {w/camera screw connection,} to a piece of 1/8 16'x2' paneling. This Keeps it Steady for ZOOM... I bought it for Thunder Storms, Planets, etc....OR a Tripod. I used a Remote Control Telescope unit and Tripod. Used Remote for Camera. Amazing-Recordings @ Super-Long Distances. I SEEN someone said, Why the Zoom? For the Right Projects...This is the Right Camera. Always Dependable, NEVER had a Major Problem. Had Mine since early 90's.

Strength:

Digital video/ audio signal, Canon optics, many features, zoom mike, analog in/ out.

Weakness:

Audio strenght/ quality not very good, some commands are too complicated to access (through the camcorder menu instead of dedicated buttons).

First of all I would like to say that you can not beat this price for a camcorder with these features and most important with one which has Canon optics. Full of features and very good to transfer personal videos from VHS, SVHS, 8mm or any other old format. You just plug the old analog sourse to the cancorder, transfer the video and audio and then you transfer the digital audio/ video signal to a DVD or another digital recorder. What I didn't really like is the audio is a bit weak. Overall the camcorder is very good. I also didn't like that you have to take MANUALLY off the date stamp from the videos while you transfer them, it comes back every 5 minutes. Also the fade in/ out is very complicated to activate and when you do it it is good only once, if you want to use it again you have to go through all the settings again, there's no dedicated button for it on the case of the unit. I like also the night cat and low light gamma features. So, that is it, I would recommend this camcorder to everyone.
