When new, this was a perfect entry-level DSLR, but a little pricey. You can now pick up a used D70 for only a few hundred dollars and at that price, it makes an excellent digital camera for the first-time DSLR user. I believe this camera will revolutionise HD production. I've been shooting with a PDX10 for the last 12 months and it did the job but didn't offer up the image quality or control of the Z1. The definition is stunning. We are all wearing nappies in HDV but if you are going to start crawling, this is a nice place to start.
