Sanyo VPC-HD1 HDV Digital Camcorder Camcorders

Sanyo VPC-HD1 HDV Digital Camcorder Camcorders

DESCRIPTION

The Sanyo VPC-HD1 brings high definition video recording to a new, compact and low-cost level. This miniature camera resembles some digital still photo cameras in its vertical layout. It has an OLED display monitor built in for new levels of power and space efficiency with increased light output and faster respones times over traditional LED displays. And this camera does not use video tape for recording but encodes with MPEG4 compression onto inexpensive SD cards (sold separately). In fact a 2 GB card will record over 40 minutes of HD video. Because the recording process uses no moving parts the card can be reused far more times than a video cassette. High quality stereo audio is recorded using AAC-LC encoding.

Strength:

HD Capability, terrific point and shoot, small size, easy carry, beautiful picture and video quality.

Weakness:

No A/C out... can't use a helmet cam!

The camera is a great little gadget which refuses to let me down. I purchased it for the purpose of using it to make snowboarding/mountain biking videos and it always meets the challenge and exceeds my expectations. It refuses to break and has lived through all of the stuff I put it through, from crashing on it with my bike to subzero temperatures on the slopes.

Great little camera!

Customer Service

I haven't had to deal with this yet, thanks to the camera's resiliancy. Hopefully I won't have to for awhile, either.
