Strength:

Long battery life.
Great exposure control.
Excellent audio pick-up.

Weakness:

Tiny memory card for storage of digital still photos 4meg.

This camera for its price delivers everything that the casual to intermediate photographer or holiday recorder could want. I especially like the 6 hour battery life and the quick acting manual exposure metre that will allow you to adjust from out-doors to in-doors and lets you select perfect WYSIWYG exposure for your home movies.
The 10 X optical zoom is adequate for most circumstances and you can increase this cosiderably with digital zoom which is up to 20 X.
Light enough and small enough it is not so light that you can't hold it steady and it has a fuction called "steadyshot" which seems to assist with very professional panning when hand held.
Night shot and super nightshot functions are also impressive especially if your interest lies in night photography of animals.
From someone who previously used a Canon EX1 this is a real little gem.
