Strength:

Good Lens (3x optical) Easy to use Great pictures

Weakness:

None to me

I purchased this camera after careful evaluations of all existing 2.1 Mpixels cameras out there in the same price range. The choice was obvious to me to get this Sony. Lens is important to me and the lens on this model beats others in its class, including its new replacement the DSC-P51 (That''s why I didn''t wait for the P51, having a smaller 2X optical lens). I do not care about whether it comes with 4M memory or 8M, or 16M all being too small to be of any practical use. True that I have to pay a little more for the Sony Stick versus CF or Smart Media but I''m getting a Sony! I do not use the mpeg feature at all so it does not matter that it does not have sound. I get better results for mpeg using my camcorder. This model usage of battery is no more than any other models out there that I could tell. Perhaps it gets a lot of complaints because Sony included 2 cheap Alkaline batteries that weren''t meant to be used in any electronic devices for any long period of time. I use rechargeable NiMH AA batteries with great success (lasting 1+ hour) with everything turned on --the way I like it. I''m very happy with the camera. It does everything I expect it to do...point-and-shoot ease with expert results. Pictures are sharp, true to color. Windows XP recognizes the P50 as a drive without having to load any drivers. It couldn''t be easier.
