Strength:

Ring for Lenses/filters.
Sharp picture
Manual Settings
Scene Modes
Battery Life (using double capacity battery)
Range of function/settings.
The amount of things you can change with this camera isnt normal for a cheap mid-range Camera.
Big LCD screen.

Weakness:

very sensitive microphone meaning if you want to record something at a concert and your quite near the speakers then you wont be able to pick the music up properly and it sounds just like distortion/muffled sound.
Obviously most people wont be doing this but i take photos at various concerts for a website and sometimes i like to video a song if i like it...i wonder if there is any way of doing this with a camera.
Lack of Maunaul Focus (Only SLRs seem to have that though).

Having started digital photography with a Kodak LS443 i decided to stick with Kodak after my LS443 broke. I looked very carefully at some similar alternatives and this seemed to be the best of a superb bunch of medum-sized 4mp digital cameras. I needed to have a ring on the camera so i could attach my lenses etc and this camera has such a filter ring. I've had it for more than 6 months now and feel i've had enough experience with it

The various modes on this camera are superb. You can choose between Video, Auto, Scene, "P" (General Picture taking with exposure and flash compensation), "A" (Aperture Priority), "S" (Shutter Priority), "M" (Manual) and "C" (Saved Custom). This should pretty much cover every scenario that you are presented with as a beginner -> Intermediate photographer. obviously the professionals amongst us wont be happy not being able to flick it up to 1/5000 but it can go up to 1/1000. At the other end of scale - it doesnt have a "bulb" setting BUT it does have upto 64seconds of possible exposure available. You can also change the 'f' from 2.8 -> 5.6 in Manual Mode, and the ISO from 80 upto 400. I'd say this camera is only One step below an SLR in terms of functionality - apart from the lack of Manual Focus.

I have a 1GB SD Card in that only cost around £20 from ebuyer and i can fit more than 850 photos on there with the setting at 3:2 (3.5MP). i take them at this setting so it's easier to print out (if you have it on normal setting you'll have to crop any photo slightly if you're getting them printed out anywhere) - this is the same for all cameras though.

The battery lasts for quite a while but i bought an extra(double) capacity battery just to make sure i never missed a shot. The battery charger is a rapid charge and mine came with a EU plug aswell as an English attachment that can slide on/off (very handy when going abroad). I'd always carry an extra battery or two if you were expecting to take a lot of pictures in one day.

The review mode of this camera is good too as there is a massive LCD screen on the back, you can even hook it up to a TV too using the cable provided. Also available is a "Favourites" section on the camera however i havent used that so i cant comment on it.

In summary, Excellent All-Round camera for Beginners and Intermediates alike. Even a pro would be happy with the functionality of this camera. Highly Recommended.
