Strength:

It lasted a year. Company is returning the camera w/ free shipping. That is the only plus.

This camera lasted 14 months with light duty before the focusing mechanism started to fail. Attemps to get Casio to repair it on warranty were denied. Will not recommend this manufacturer to anyone.

Strength:

Love the one touch record button. You don't need to go through the menu for most things. There are buttons on the outside that give you acces to most of the features.

Weakness:

The lens is very sensetive to damage. With normal use this camera will not outlast it's warranty, and most likely that damage will not be covered by the warranty.

This is my second Casio Exilim. I love the camera. My favorite feature is the one touch video button. However, we bought the second because we broke the first by lightly dropping it when the lens was extended. The second at about 9 months in has developped problems extending the lens but the warranty will not cover that because it is a common damage due to dropping. This camera is too frail for us to purchase a third.

Customer Service

I returned the camera for warranty repair when the lens would not open. I got back a estimate for repair($134.57) which stated it was not covered because the damage was caused by severe impact to the casing, which it was not. Kind of like having the fox watch the hen house-they claim severe impact so they can try scamming you out of a repair bill. To add insult to injury they charged me $7.95 S&H to get my unrepaired camera back. Shame on Casio. Also,I purchased a new cradle/charger for $60.00 directly from CASIO for my daughter's EXS880 as she misplaced hers 2 weeks ago, and now that 1 of our 2 camera's is now junk and have no need for the 2nd charger (which is unused) , I called Casio about returning it but was told I couldn't since I don't have the origonal packaging (who saves empty boxes after you open them?)
