Strength:

Super quiet, almost creepy. Fast drive, lots of goodies for the buck, good autofocus, easy to use.

Weakness:

Hate the little buttons on the back for changing drive, metering, AEB, redeye flash. Everything is two steps. Worse: To set AEB so you can hold down the shutter for 3 fast exposures you have to also change the drive mode. The AEB should automatically switch to 3fps drive.

Other than the silly buttons on the back of the camers (which should be a dial or somehting to that effect, or at least have the buttons themselves change the setting, not have to press the button then turn the wheel), I am nothing but pleased with this camera. It's super quiet and fast, the 16 built in functions are very useful - being able to put the autofocus start on a separate button is a wonderful touch. My gripe with the buttons wasn't enough to keep me from buying and enjoying this body. I love it!

Customer Service

Fantastic. I emailed them a question and got an answer back in less than 24 hrs.

Strength:

Great professional features for muuch less than professional price. Has all features of top two Canon Pro Models, and with a quiet, and smooth 5 FPS rate, its great for sport shots.

Weakness:

None

If your looking for a professionl quality Camera with Pro features, and a great Price (got mine for $470.00 with full USA Warr.), this is your camera. Although not as rugged as the top two Cannon Camera (EOS3 and or EOS 1N) lets face it, unless your in Kosovo on a combat shoot, you won't find a better Camera for the price.

Strength:

It has everything you could ever want in a professional camera. With the vertical grip, the only way to get a better camera is to buy the new EOS-3.

Weakness:

The pop-up flash doesn't pop up anymore, but i don't use it anyway.

Only 4 stars overall cause of the flash

It's great. It's easy to use even for unprofessional photographer like my husband.

Weakness:

Not so far

It's really good for intermediate photographer who do not want to make an easy mistake. The camera will take care of the pictures as long as you take good care of its.

Strength:

Simply the best ergonomics of any 35 mm camera. Easy to use and set-up functions. Big body allows for excellent grip, yet not too heavy.

Weakness:

None

A great camera just a notch below the pro level cameras. Although an older model, the metering/focus/ functions are still able to compete with newer cameras. Fantastic ergonomis, the best of any camera (one control dial and 5 easy-reach buttons on the back) easy and fast to use and set up. Great Canon quality!

Strength:

Pro features in a lighter body and a better price. Winder is built in and fast for standard equipment. Meter is very accurate in partial and evaluative. The quick control dial is very useful for on the fly adjustments of exposure.

Weakness:

LCD display is hard to read at night. Uses a lot of plastic to save weight. Flash is good for emergencies only.

I find myself using this body more than my 1N for many reasons. It is lighter, quieter, and has held up quite well in all climates. I don't bang it around so I have not had any problems with breakage. The A2 delivers the goods at a fair price. The flash metering could stand some improvement.

Strength:

Professional quality camera with an abundance of features found in the more expensive models. The focusing is fast and precise when mated with USM lenses. The controls are convenient to work with whether in manual or auto mode.

Weakness:

Horrible built-in flash. Absolutely useless.

This is an excellent camera worth every penny. The consumer 28-105 lense that comes with the kit is great bargain and is perfect for everyday casual photography.

Strength:

This is one of the best cameras ever made. It has no weaknesses and has a super accurate meter. Very good value and a fully featured camera.

Weakness:

None at all, never had a breakdown, touch wood! Not as robust as an EOS1 if you give your cameras a hard life.

Why spend twice as much (at least) on an EOS1 when you can have one of these beauties.
