Strength:

Focus speed and Accuracy. Light weight. Low Price. Film transport speed.

Weakness:

No PC Socket PIC modes are useless to me.

For the Price this is an excellent camera. It does have a lot less weight and a cheaper feel than an EOS-1V but the focus point selection method is much better, it is lighter, much quieter and a lot less money(I figured less expensive body+better lenses was the best option). The AF is quick and acurate. film wind and rewind are fast and quiet(a little too quiet for me though). PIC modes are useless for me as is the built in flash. The camera does everything I need it to do. Get the BP-300 it seems to balance things out with longer heavier lenses makes long sessions shooting verticals less painful. BTW the eye control rocks in 90% of the situations unless it's dark and you can't see the black rectangles in the viewfinder. I love this camera. It also has MLU which is nice. It's linked to the self timer I think. No big deal though.

Customer Service

Never needed. 200 some rolls of film before it got stolen. :( Buying another one A.S.A.P :)

Strength:

*Fast 4 frames per second *Fast autofucus *solid feel *Great buy for the price

Weakness:

None found!!!

I have been using this for sports photography, it takes awesome photo's. Easy to use, even for a beginner, but has enough features for an intermediate photographer, or pro's back up camera. Compatible with the 56 canon EF lenses which is nice, because u can start with a low-end consumer lense, and progress to one of the "L" series lenses, if they fit ur budget.

Great camera all around. Great for a beginner, great backup for a pro. I was thinking about getting the nikon n80, but i was never really a big nikon fan. The n80 is more expensive, and has probably only one difference, the af metering in low light.

Hopefully wont have to find out.

Strength:

Eye control is really cool. Built in flash is way more powerfull that I thought but also takes such a good shot indoors you can't even tell a flash was used.

I bought this camera. It works great. It's well worth the money. I'm buying the 10d as well so this one will make the best film backup camera ever. It's quick, looks and feels great with the optional battery pack, highly recommend that. I was a photojournalist in the Coast Guard, my main camera was a Nikon F5 and my backup was an F4. I didn't think anything from anybody could beat that combo till now.

Strength:

Fast focusing Eye Controlled Focus Sturdy, even if it doesn't feel like it 4 fps Control placement and feel Compatible with L lenses

Weakness:

AF poor in low light Built-in flash is a waste of space Meter can be fooled, unless a speedlite is being used

This camera is perfect for any non professional who wants a good camera. Build quality is a good compromise. It seems like Canon was going for the lowest weight possible while still providing a strong base for heavy L lenses; I've put a 70-200 2.8 and a 540 EZ on mine and it didn't seem taxed (balance was funny though). Eye controlled focus is no gimmick - it's extremely intuitive and fast enough for anything except sports, but that's more because of AF point placement than the ECF itself. 4 fps is nice (you can beat D1Xs!) but it won't catch everything like the EOS 1V/1D will. On board flash is terrible, but so are all other on board flashes. The metering is reasonably accurate, very good with a speedlite on the shoe, but I shoot at black and white jerseys all the time and it gets fooled. I use an incident meter in gymnasiums. Controls are well placed, and the BP-300 grip is nice to work with, but I find myself wishing for another control dial by the vertical shutter release. If you're serious about photography but can't spend 1K plus, buy this camera with Canon's USM primes or the less expensive L glass (17-40 f4, 70-200 f4), and the 420 EX.

Strength:

1) Has many of the features of a pro camera 2) Well-made/solid, even better with battery grip 3) Fast - AF, FPS, etc. 4) Canon makes it easy to get accessories for their stuff 5) everything you need if you don't need weather-proof camera

Weakness:

1) Meter lock only stays on for 4 seconds 2) No true spot meter (only 10%), although this has not been an issue to date, since I just switch to a longer lens and meter... 3) view finder is a bit cramped, not the greatest for wearers of glasses 4) Focal point light difficult to see in bright light

After much deliberation regading which body to buy, I decided that bang for buck, the 7E was better than the EOS 3. The extra cash will look nice in my bank account, maybe to be used for better glass down the road. Don't get the kit lens that comes with it though, get a better one, like the 28 - 105 or 25 - 85... It is worth the extra $$$.

I moved up from a REBEL G because I wanted something a little more durable and I like gadgets. I have been greatly impressed with the Creative Zone in this camera. I am by no means an expert, but after some experimenting I have been able to capture some great photos of well known spots in the DC area.

Strength:

quiet. have all the necessary features you need especially mirror lock up light weight compare with advance models build in flash is useful for some instant

Weakness:

difficult to focus in dim light The focus sparking is annoying, who design it? You should us a 420EX flash to solve this problem

It is a camera with all the necessary features you need within resonable price. You will not regret to buy it. I have a EOS 1.But EOS 30 is my favour one if I take only one camera outside. You may not need eye focus, but it is just a few extra bugs for it. Just try it. The only weakness of this camera from pro- camera is that it do not have 1/8000 shutter. But does anyone always use this speed? Another drawblack is that it does not have spot metering. Ok.It is right. The difference can be soft from bracketing. I strongly advice anyone want to take photo seriously as hobby to use this camera. You will find that you do not need other features for the current advance model normally.

Strength:

Many: see reviews below.

Weakness:

1. Vibration is rather more than I'd like. I'd say this is the price you pay for a mostly-plastic camera, but some pentax models give much less with even lighter weight. I've never known how pentax does this. 2. Single-direction, outer AF sensors should be diagonal to catch more subjects, instead of vertical only. Other makers do this. Only the center, crosshair sensor can really be relied on. 3. Small hands can't quite reach all the thumb buttons comfortably, for focus point selection. Some people on the web portray the camera as so incredibly silent that it's practically a stealth camera. Wind and rewind are indeed much quieter than the average, but the characteristic SLR mirror-slap is present; in really quiet environments you will turn heads as you would with any SLR. If you must have near-silence, only a leaf shutter with no moving mirror, and non-ratcheted manual advance will do the job.

This camera has been very satisfactory, and there's enough detail in the other reviews without my going on and on praising it. The cheap, featherweight 50mm f1.8 makes it a fine point-and-shoot with results that blow away pocket cameras, and the setup can be carried in the hand with only a wrist strap for hours on end with no fatigue. Manual operation is a dream, as you set the speed with your trigger finger and the aperture with the thumb of the same hand - complete one-handed operation if you want it.

Customer Service
