Strength:
very light weight and quiet
Weakness:
the pop up flash is rather bright for upclose pics. I have always used Canon equipment and would not use any other brand. This camera is very user friendly and easy to learn the features. I especially like the red eye reduction as I shoot weddings and portraits. I put it throw a test at night with only the full moon as lighting and the pictures turned out GREAT! I would recommend it to anyone. Customer Service have not had a need to contact Similar Products Used: canon eos rebel that came out 10 years ago |

Price, features, ease of use
Weakness:
Plastic lens and tripod mounts As a beginner, I did 2 months of research before deciding on the Rebel 2000. I found a great deal on the QD kit with the new Canon 28-90mm lens, camera bag, and mini tripod, $280 on Cameraworld.com's clearance page. MORE DURABLE THAN THE CRITICS CLAIM.AWESOME WITH THE BP200 AND A GOOD FILL FLASH.THE 28-80 LENS IS ALMOST FLAWLESS AT 50.THE POP UP FLASH IS GOOD AND HANDY BUT DO"T GET TO CLOSE.GET A FAST LENS AND YOU CAN PRODUCE COLOR AS WELL AS A PRO IF NOT BETTER.REMBER THE NAME OF THE GAME IS OPTICS NOT BODY. I RECOMMEND CANON 85 mm1.8 FOR SEROIUS WORK TAMRON 28-200 IS A GOOD OUTDOOR LENS BUT WILL EMBARRASS YOU INDOORS.YOU ALSO CAN TRACT WELL WITH ACTION SHOT & SPORTS.
Weakness:
STROBE FIRING WITH THE POP UP FLASH. THISCAMERA HAS TAKEN ME FROM A HOBBY TO MAKING SOME EXTRA CASH. I SHOT STILL PHOTO FOR LITTLE LEAGUE SPORTS(FOOTBALL,BASEBALL,BASKETBALL)HAVE MY PICTURES PUT ON CD'S AND PRINT THEM OUT ON PHOTO PAPER . I THEN SEND THE PAPER BACK THROUGH THE PHOTO PRINTER AFTER I PUT THE KID'S REQUTED INFO ON THE BACK ALONG WITH A CLIP ART IMAGE OF THE TEAMS MASCOT. I THEN LAMINATE THE SHEET WITH A THICK LAMINATE PAPER AND LATER CUT THEM ON A BOARD CUTTER. THE KIDS LOVE TO TRADE THEM . ALSO HAVE DONE THIS ON A HIGH SCHOOL LEVEL.A 8X10 ALSO IS PRODUCED ON THE PC AND INCLUDE IN THE PACK. I GUESS MY POINT IS THAT I HAVE SHOT 400 FRAMES WITH ONLY 10 BAD EXPOSURE WITH WAS PROBABLY MY FAULT AND THIS CAMERA IS GRAVELY UNDERATED AS A BEGINNERS CAMERA. TRY SHOOTING IN THE CRATIVE ZONES IF YOU THINK IT IS JUST A BEGINNERS CAMERA MY NEXT CAMERA WILL BE THE D 30 ONCE ALL THE KINKS ARE OUT (1.6).THE T 50 ALSO IS A GOOD CAMER WITH GOOD OPTIC. DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHERE I CAN GET ANY LENSES FOR A T 50 Customer Service NONE Similar Products Used: T-50 AE1 ELLAN II TAMRON 28-200 CANON 85 1.8 |

Strength:
Lightweight, easy to use from full automatic to full manual. Depth of field preview, AE lock, quick auto focus for price range, seven focusing points. Countless lenses and accessories available both from Canon and third party mfgrs. If you have large hands, I recommend the optional battery pack (about $30) which also doubles as a vertical grip with duplicated shutter control and port for remote switch. I simply can't imagine these features on any other camera at a comptetitive price. Thinking about a "point and shoot"? Save your money and get this camera instead.
Weakness:
Included manual not very comprehensive, but spend a few hours with this camera and you can figure most features out yourself. If you need written instructions, I'd recommend the excellent Magic Lantern guide (about $15) Don't buy as "kit" with the almost useless 35-80mm lens. Try instead something like the Tamron 28-200mm aspherical lens. Nothing comes close at this price. Customer Service Haven't had to try them Similar Products Used: Canon AE-1 (still a classic) |

Strength:
Easy to use. Great manual and auto options. User friendly features.
Weakness:
Less ergonomic especially with a heavy lens Same price as the Nikon F60. Excellent value for money with much better features than any other SLR camera in its range. Provides 35 way metering when other cameras (in the same range) provide 6 way metering. Similar Products Used: Tamron 28-200, Nikon F60 |

Strength:
Even though its plastic, its durable. Just as good as metal bodies. Any camera you drop will have problems! I have the "kit" lens, but it still produces some fine photographs. I've gotten some really nice shots in concerts and small shows. Particularly good with blur motion at concerts, looks really cool with neon lights and whatnot. I have gotten some really nice looking outdoor shots as well. I may be purchasing a better lens soon, but the one that comes with the "kit" is a very very excellent lens, and even better at the normal price. An awesome camera as is, with capabilities to expand for users who gain more and more interest/experience
Weakness:
Flash is OK, but its a built in, so I can't complain. There is an LED display, but it doesn't "glow in the dark", so you have to look into the viewfinder all the time to set your aperture and shutter speeds, which is really crappy when you are in the middle of a show, and don't wanna miss anything cool. The little wheel thing that you use to set aperture etc etc, is not ergonomic at all. Excellent for beginners, but also excellent for experienced users. I haven't had the opportunity to usethe 28-105 mm USM lens, but I've been happy with the "kit" one. It's good for the type of photo's I take, which are concerts/shows, portraits, outdoor. Customer Service Never had the need. Similar Products Used: A bunch of other camera's I can't remember. Some Nikon point and shoot camera that took amazing quality photos that I got in Barcelona because my crappy other one broke and started turning off and on under its own power |

Strength:
Light, good features for money. Pretty sturdy- I dropped it 6 inches onto concrete and that and the kit lens were fine.
Weakness:
Manual isn't any good, but are any? Good camera- good price. Contrary to a previous complaint, this camera does far more than "point and shoot". I've shot dozens of fine "creative" shots from this camera. If you are beginning photography and you want a Canon camera, you can't go wrong with this one, or the more-featured Elan 7. (But the Elan 7 has similar features and costs much more than the R2000, and weighs more...maybe just go for the 2000...) Customer Service ? Similar Products Used: Manual SLRs, P&S cameras |

Strength:
Light weight. Excellent value, especially when you buy the package with the 28-80 and 75-300 lenses. Lots of features.
Weakness:
1. The built in flash is used as a stroboscope to assist the af. But the af is so slow that sometimes this simply doesn’t work (even with the EF 50 1.4 USM lens), it fires of a series of flashes but no picture is taken since it doesn’t finds focus, and after a couple of seconds I give up. It is very irritating for both me and my subjects. This, and the fact that the flash (like most built-in flashes) has very limited range with slow films has prompted me to order the 550 EX flash, which uses an infrared beam to assist the af. I like this camera. Most of the time it works flawlessly. In daylight, doing street photography, it gives me all the performance that I need. When photographing people in low-light situations, I have used the built-in flash and put the camera in shutter priority mode at 1/30 to capture more of the natural light and it gives me really nice pictures (when there is enough natural light for the camera to focus without the help of the flash…). The af is a bit slow when shooting fast-moving subjects. I think the weaknesses I have found are things that are to be expected in every camera in this price range, so I lust for a high-performance, customizable camera like the EOS 1V. I will probably upgrade some day, but I will keep my EOS 300. I expect there will be situations where I will find it the more appropriate choice. Similar Products Used: Nikon FG-20 |

Wow !!!; amazing; great features; beautiful looking; stylish; easy to use; just simply excellent
Weakness:
NONE (that is in Capital letters) :) OK folks !!! My comments are for folks like me who are not professionals. If you are a professional photographer, don't critique my review. Ok, this is an amzing camera. I am only used to those point and shoot cameras that I saw most kids using when growing up. This camera has great features and deliver photograps like having pictures taken by a photographer. I just developed the first roll of film and the results are marvellous. This camera is fully automoatic and focusses for you in both manual and auto focus zoom settings. You will have to use it to know what I am talking about. Just imagine this; I have always used those simple point and shoot cameras and I was able to use this one with such ease that my pictures came out just perfect. I cannot tell you how pleased I am. None, unless you really want a point and shoot with interchangable lenses.
Weakness:
Poor control layout. Terrible manual control. Plastic body Finiky AF. A McCamera, only for those who want to have a point and shoot with interchangable lenses. If you want to "learn" about this photography then avoid this and look at something else.Get a Olympus Infinty Stylus Epic or a Yashica T4 for less than half price and get as good of pics!
