Strength:
When they say tank they mean tank. I dropped my T-90 from waist height onto a concrete floor. The only casualty was the plastic strap lug (why does it have one metal and one plastic lug?!?). "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger" I suppose, because it has never failed me.
Weakness:
They don't make them any more. Why, I have no idea. If you have a T-90 and know how to turn a focusing ring, you have all the 35mm camera you will need. The ultimate in plastic-bodied cameras, then and now. Digicams will be the end of the good old days but the T-90 has to be the best consumer non AF camera ever made, and if you are willing to consider it a pro 35mm camera (4.5 fps built-in motor drive and 1/4000 sec shutter, and it bounces if you drop it, so why not!), one of the best half dozen ever in that category. And in the AF era there is no bargain in camera bodies like there was in the pre-AF days. Customer Service If it had broken I'd have had it serviced. The Feel
Weakness:
None This was my first camera when I started photography 15 years ago and it is still the only one I use. When you have the best there is no need for anything else. A perfect example of a product that withstands time. Never a problem, never a missed shot. Similar Products Used: None |

Professional
Strength:
Great camera. Has all the features of todays auto focus cameras, but with none of the gizmos and auto focus stuff. Has a 4.2 frame per second motor drive that is great for sports.
Weakness:
Out of production, so no parts available if it breaks. Excellent camera that was way ahead of its time. Similar Products Used: Canon AE-1, Canon A1 |

Strength:
The TANK is durable, precise and lightweight.
Weakness:
The camera is not as tough as a professional camera. Well, I love T90. I consider it a wonderful example of engineering and of photo technology. I don't remember an uncorrect exposure, or a fall in its reliability. I use the T90 for macrophotography and for normal shots, thanks to its innovative flash system (the macro flash ML2 can be used with EOS cameras!). Not to speak of the interesting accessories, as the command back and the data memory back. I consider the T90 your best choice if you do not need Autofocus. Customer Service That's OK. Weakness:
Shutter release cover easily lost. Lovely, rugged camera that has been very reliable except for the shutter failing twice, which has made me nervous about relying on it for anything important. Suitable for both pro and am. Customer Service Great - at least it is here in the UK. Similar Products Used: Canon T70 (didn't like it), F1 old (loved it), AE1, Mamiya C330,M645 and RB67, Leica |

Casual
Strength:
Fantastic ergonomics; multi-spot metering; 4.5fps motordrive; simple to use; bright viewfinder; takes AA batteries; compact compared with most advance AF SLR; great selection of cheap used FD optics; solid build; getting cheap in the UK
Weakness:
Command dial sticks temporarily if camera hasn't been used for a while; no longer supported by Canon aftersales; very noisy rewind A landmark camera which is still loved by so many photographers (check out www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/hardwares/messageboard/canont90msg/canon-t90.msql for great message board). Vastly superior to the A1 which I also have! Customer Service Have never had a problem in 9 years of ownership Similar Products Used: A1; T70 |

Strength:
Heavy, substantial feel in hands;
Weakness:
a little loud; I got this GREAT camera together with the 50mm f1.4 S.S.C. lens and the 300TTL flash on ebay for $525 (MINT condition). ... Haven't regretted it for a moment! Owing to the great ergonomics, the camera feels perfect in your hands (in fact, it looks more like an EOS than anything else... and is probably more elegant than some of the newer ones, in fact). Still, it can be a bit daunting for an amateur like myself to pick up something so sophisticated. I switched from using my (ancient) Nikkormat (which used to belong to my dad) when the flash unit died on me, and when I was researching what to buy, I came across this little known beauty. Being a poor student, I decided this was the way to go (as opposed to the EOS 30/Elan 7E). The FD lenses are great - I've been using the 50mm f1.4 SSC (breech lock version... wonderful, sharp lens) and will probably buy a 35-105 f3.5 Macro (one of the best lenses ever made by Canon) a bit later on. The metering is perfect, and even leaving it on 'program', you get spot-on pictures. The only (mini) complaint I have against the T-90 is that it sometimes freezes up with the "EEE-HELP" sign on the LCD screen... all you have to do is take the batteries out and then put them back in again. It's annoying, but not a big deal... Again, this is a great camera... buy it if you can find one!!! Customer Service Never used. Similar Products Used: Nikon (Nikkormat) EL; |

Strength:
Very well designed and laid out camera. It has an incredible set of functions. Really unbelievable.
Weakness:
Exposure compensation values do not show in viewfinder. Incredible!! Auto-focus does not have much to offer over the incredible capabilities of these cameras. Also, I like the feel of the manual focus lens better. Manually focusing one of the newer lens is very hard for me where as the older lens are a real joy to focus. It must be the extra mass which the newer lens are cutting back on to improve focus speed. Also the focusing rings on the older lens are a real pleasure to hold. Similar Products Used: Canon F-1 |

I agree with all the strangths mentioned by other reviews. I used once at storm and heavy raining environment at 1989. Without an umbella, it worked perfectly. At the same moment, I saw several Nikon F3 fail at rain and cause those reporters trouble. It never fails at 14 years of my usage. I lost it two monthes ago and I miss it. This is the best hand feel camera I ever used. Very good balance to use with small and heavy lens. True color and bright view finder. Especially good is the last film counter.
Weakness:
Noisy shutter. I was stopped by guard when photo at concert. If the new EOS continuous with the good camera hand feel. EOS will be more sucess. Also the non L models FD lens are better than those non L EOS models. Customer Service Good but a little expensive at Hong KOng. Similar Products Used: Canon old F1, T70, EF, EOS5 |

Strength:
Shutter speeds are amazing, the metering is simply incredible - totally accurate!
Weakness:
> NO CANON SUPPORT FOR THIS CAMERA. I think Canon should think twice about cutting off support for its older models...Why??? Because people remember that crap when they're purchasing newer products! This camera was manufactured beautifully...It's the top of Canon's designs for FD compatible manual fous lenses..Beautiful! Incredible shutter speeds (30 sec to 1/4000th of sec) Just take good care of it, give it lotza love & TLC. It's completely electronic, so for water sports or steamy porno shoots keep this camera away from the liquids! Customer Service NONE... Similar Products Used: Leica M6 -- overrated |
