Strength:

Very simple to understand. Is not overloaded with bells and whistles that a beginner cannot understand. Great price.

I researched and planned for months to buy a Canon EOS Rebel G. I finally bought one, but took it back. I went to return it to buy the Rebel 2000, but tried the Pentax and now am kicking myself for not buying this a month earlier. This is a great camera at an affordable price.

Strength:

This little guy is so easy to use! Put it to green mode and grandmoms will be happy with it. This camera is just perfect for me as I have NO experience before. The coolest thing besides it's price tag(I got it for $180) is whenever I feel "lazy", I can put it to all automatic, and it does the work itself. BTW, the AF is very fast too.

Weakness:

I don't know was that caused by my violent usage or what, the battery cover came off, but I didn't have to send it back, I just taped it back on. Besides that, the AF sometimes looks inaccurate when you use it in dark conditions. I think it performs a lot better outdoors than indoors. I went onboard a carrier with it, it's great when I used it on the flight deck, but when I got to the hangar deck, it gets tricky even with the flash. I also used it to shoot some dawn/dusk sceneries, and they came out pretty good.

Very small, very light, very easy, fairly cheap (I am a student!)

Customer Service

Haven't used it yet, but I had it's pretty good.

TTL flash, no exposure-lock, no multiple exposure option.

Best at this price. Ideal for beginners and provides enough facility for intermediates if not for experts.

Strength:

Like this camera. Auto-focus is fast, in fact faster than those which are priced more expensive.
Simple to use, with manual control.
Used with a Pentex flash, metering is very accurate.

Weakness:

View finder is little too dark for dark shots.
Not enough 3rd-party len makers make for this model (but then again I might be wrong)

Good camera for beginners, like me. Pix reproduction is good for different types of shots.

Customer Service

So far none required yet.

Strength:

very user friendly; great body with handy dials made handling comfortable; very reliable metering; fast focus; light weight; budget friendly.

Weakness:

film forwarding is rather noisy; cannot rewind bulk loaded film; no DOF review; the aperture setting on lens can only be fixed @ A; to set at other aperture setting the camera will operate manually without TTL metering.

recommended for beginners to amateurs. Get good lens to go complementary with this body. I have been using this body for around 2years plus and i am so far very pleased with its performance. I bought pentax lense 17-28/80-320/35-80/100mm macro to go with this body. Pentax lenses are great.

Customer Service

very efficient

Easy to use. I moved from a totally manual Pentax mv to this. Has always given me a good picture.

Weakness:

Problems focusing when many objects are in the same view but at different distances. Could be user error, though.

Love the camera got the body and two lenses at a great price.

Strength:

Comfortable, ergonomically well designed, light, good lens used for it's price. Very solid construction, great aesthetics. Able to be used by all types of photograhers. Value for money.

Weakness:

Unable to do multiple exposers. no depth of field preview, hard to focus in low light.

Great camera except for a few functions which should be added for the price, other than that, a great camera for all occasions. The pentax camera can only be used with pentax lenses, and pentax lenses are very good, which is the most important factor. Good lenses make a good picture, the body just helps the lens do it.

Strength:

Easy to use, a camera suitable for photography idiots and pros. Aesthetics wise, it rules with solid construction and finishing. Also, it's value for money.

Weakness:

No depth of field preview, quite a headache sometimes. Focus is very difficult in low light and cluttered compositions.

Great camera. I don't think this camera should be reserved for beginner photographers. Pros wanting a light weight, fast AF should go for this too, if of course, you need a shutter speed of 1/8000 or something.

Customer Service

Don't know about after sales service as mine have not broken down yet, but service was great.
