Strength:

This is the most awesome camera I have ever used!!!

Weakness:

I have not tried it but I think that in semi or dim light an external flash would be helpful
But besides that none

I would describe this camera in one way !!FUN!! I love using it. I just wish I could say how mutch in this note - photographers go with it, stick withit, want it, and you will succeed!!!!!!!

Strength:

Ease of use...great for a beginner like me. I can turn on all auto, or turn off to learn the basic features.

Weakness:

None so far.

Great camera for a beginner. I'm sure as I get better I will add extra lenses and flash. It seems like I will be able to keep this camera around for a while.

Strength:

Very simple to use out of the box.
Nice feel.
Good P&S SLR
Panorama mode is for real.

Weakness:

No DOF preview.
No spot metering.
No auto-bracketing
Limited lens choices.

A nice simple camera to use . I Wish Pentax had more lenses to offer. For the price, spend a little more & go for the N80. If you want a very easy to use SLR, this is a great choice. If you want a versatile SLR, it's not. I really miss auto bracketing for those once in a lifetime shots. Tough to auto focus in dim light.

Strength:

Can set everything for you, or be totally manual. Very quick auto-focusing.

Weakness:

DOF preview would be nice. Also built-in flash makes semi-circular shadow at 35mm an wider with a Tamron 28-300 zoom lens, as camera warns. Need external flash in these conditions. Also viewfinder LEDs hard to see under very bright light.

I would recommend this camera to anyone short of a professional, with the built-in flash limitation noted above. Met all other expectations.

Strength:

IR remote with imediate or 3 second delay to hide the remote. Multiple exposure. 30 second exposure. Lots of easy features. Diopter (I used this camera in an underwater housing, this feature was very useful).

Weakness:

Missing DOF preview knob.

A real steal. Absolutely steller for night and underwater photography in my hands. I miss the DOF preview or it would be my main nature camera.

Great variaty of options to use. You have total creative control and there is 10 diff modes

Weakness:

A litle pricey.

The metal mounts are worth paying a few extra bucks for instead of the rebel 2000's polycarb. mount. Find a great deal on he internet and get one!!!

The camera gives P&S featurs as well as creative manual operation.

Auto-pict mode is nice but does not pick up fast and properly. I would rate it 3 over 5.

You will enjoy the panoramic & multi-exposure modes.

Lens mount is metal !!!!!!! Real good

No program override, bad.

Auto focus is fast (I tried the Minolta 505si (HTsi) but AF is very slow compared to this one here.

I first tried the body with the new Pentax 28-80 lens but the lens is not doing good, I switched to Pentax 28-105 IF.

"Made in Japan" is becoming a history now with new generations of Pentax products.

easy to use and learn. It feels good in your hands with the controls all in the right place. It feels well made more so than the rebel 2000 or minoltas in its price range. The metering is dead accurate .It has a metal lens mount, metal tripod socket, and metal film guides, and hot shoe. It has all the features most people need some of the high dollar cameras are getting to complex to operate.

Strength:

Very simple to operate.
Easy to handle.
Panoramic capability.

Weakness:

No depth of field.
Built-in flash limitation.

Highly recommend to anyone looking into an AF SLR camera. This camera offers high quality and many features for the money. I found the quartz date feature a nice touch since none of my other cameras included it. Although, I find the built-in flash to be a limitation, it did perform nicely. I would still recommend purchasing an external flash for those more demanding situations. From my brief experience, it seems that I will keep this camera around for a while.
