Strength:

Ease-of-use, portability, I got a lot of pretty decent pictures - it's more hit or miss though (it's awesome or crappy)

Weakness:

The premature aging stated above, small viewfinder, the hit-or-miss factor

I've had this camera now for about 3 years. It has served all my purposes well. I use it for all the trips I go on...my good old stand by point-and-shoot. But I think at 3 years, it is showing its age. The battery life of each of the batteries are becoming successively shorter. I asked the tech at the camera shop and he said that there is something electronically wrong, and to fix it it would cost as much as getting a new camera. To tell you the truth, it hasn't been the good-little-camera it usually was, lately...

Customer Service

my warranty long expired, so this is n/a for me.

Strength:

Size Light weight Easy to use

Weakness:

Size (too small buttons, difficult to hold steady) Lens VERY slow Zoom not stepless Image quality (especially the panorama prints)

I bought this camera to replace my old supermarket FUJI 35mm compact. It's small, lightweight and easy to use, ideal for holidays etc. But... It's also very difficult to hold steady because of its small size and weight. Buttons are made for women and children only, they are so small. Slow lens means that you have to use ISO 800 film most of the time. Image quality is also rather poor. I'm not very happy with it. Good thing is that I bought it Tax Free so it wasn't too expensive.

Strength:

Great AutoFocus, even when Zoomed Compact but Durable (metal case) Love the APS vs. 35mm (error-proof) Picture Quality hardly compromised whatsoever (vs. 35mm) Like the zoom as well

Weakness:

APS Processing takes longer and is more expensive. Should have purchased online and saved $40 Otherwise, no weaknesses.

I think this camera is great. Fantastic AutoFocus and very compact. The LCD tells you all you need to know and APS allows for lots of flexibility in general. The zoom is excellent and can focus well even in the most telephotographic mode. I kinda took a chance and used this camera for the first time at graduation...went through two rolls in as many days and the pics turned out GREAT! Highly recommend this camera!

Strength:

Small, durable, metal case feels solid. Simple operation--I've loaned it out to several friends who've all like it.

Weakness:

The light weight and small size actually work against the camera, making it difficult to hold the camera steady enough to keep things sharp when using the telephoto zoom.

This little camera is incredibly portable, easy to keep on hand, and produces nice images. The zoom is very helpful in framing the pic. I bought this for a trip to Paris and wanted something I could keep on hand but that would be discreet. The pics from the trip turned out great and the option to switch aps film without shooting entire rolls really helped meuse the right film for the situation.

Strength:

Compact Sharp Lense

Weakness:

24mm (inherently lacks the detail that larger formats have)

I usually use an SLR except when I want to go really compact. That is when I use this camera. You can''t get too much more compact than this. This is the best point and shoot camera that I have ever used. I have many outstanding photo''s taken with this little gem while traveling in Europe. I''ve even blown up many to 8x10''s and they still look good.

Strength:

Compact Easy to use Has zoom, albeit not continous

Weakness:

Tiny controls and viewfinder Overpriced for value

Somewhat dissapointed in this camera for the price paid. Love the compactness (I carry it everywhere), but the price you pay is tiny (read, tiny) viewfinder and controls. I''d read this in reviews but got it anyway - they really are small!! Zoom ok but not continuous, has 5 discrete levels. Print quality not 35mm, but not bad. I''ve always used Kodak 400 but very grainy. Am trying Kodak B&W 400 and will try Fuji as I''ve read these are better, less grainy films. Also didn''t realize that negative is same size, just cropped so I don''t see much benefit in CHP sizes. Really like being able to switch mid-roll and backside date printing

Strength:

Solid construction. The on/off switch is secure such that it can not be mistakenly turned on (like accidently in the case). Great optics.

Weakness:

None

This camera is a jewel. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people that don''t really understand the APS system. As with any camera, the results are more dependent on the developing process than the characteristics of the camera. I have found that Walgreens and a professional lab in town give equal results. I am not sure, but there appears to be labs that produce prints through a digital process which is probably why people report that pictures come out grainy in 4x6 or 8x10. I have never seen this in my pictures. When they come out grainy, wrong size, date/ no date, etc., etc., it is most likely the result of a processing error. Also, don''t be fooled by the classic (C), wide angle (H) and panoramic (P) switch. (H) uses the entire negative area, (C)tells the processor the crop the sides, (P) tells the processor to crop the top and bottom. It''s as simple as that. I always shoot in the (H) mode. If you see a print you want to alter, you can crop it later. As far as the 370Z goes, its the best on the market. It has a reasonable zoom range from 23mm (the equivalent of 29mm in 35mm format)to 70mm (88mm in 35mm). The optics are excellent. Most importantly, it''s solid and built like a tank. The Canon Elph series are the products that put the APS system on that map.

Customer Service

Haven''t needed it yet. I''ve shot perhaps 50 rolls through it in a period of over two years.

Strength:

Size, portability.

Weakness:

Poor picture quality.
Very weak flash.

I was attracted to this camera for it's portability, but soon discoverd that it has a horrible time exposing pictures with any shadows, (shadow detail is non existant). The picture quality of the $300 camera is about same as a disposable camera. If picture quality is a priority, stay away from this camera.

Strength:

Really small and portable; nice big zoom; looks great; easy to use.

Weakness:

Chews through batteries disturbingly quickly, APS film extraordinarily expensive to develop.

I'm really quite fond of this camera - it's my first APS and I enjoy its simplicity and features. But it's getting to be a very expensive asset to keep working with, particularly as the battery seems to die every two to three weeks, and (at least in Australia) APS film is about 2.5 to 3 times as expensive to process as regular stuff. On a positive financial note though, I managed to pick it up for US$179 brand new at a dodgy little store in San Francisco. RRP$530? Phooey!

I hope I never drop the d*** thing though, from the sounds of other reviewers on this page!

Model Reviewed: ELPH 370 Z

Strength:

Small Size, Mid-Roll Change feature was great, Photo quality was good.

Weakness:

Flash broke after being dropped less than a foot onto a table. Tiny buttons!

A nice camera to carry around at all times, if you can keep from dropping it! I loved being able to change film mid-roll. I shot four rolls of film changing after every 2nd or 3rd photo to see how well it worked, and there were no problems with that feature. The tiny buttons on the camera were difficult for my husband to manipulate. Decent value, I paid around $275-300 for the camera and case.

Customer Service

No experience. I returned the camera when the flash broke.
