Strength:

3x zoom

Weakness:

Reliability. The Minolta camera quit working after warranty expired; it was a weird problem, pressing the shutter to shoot a picture turns off the camera. This Minolta landed in the trash can after I bought the Canon elph2.

The 3x zoom makes this camera bulky.
Who needs 3x (xxx) anyway?

Customer Service

Didn't try, these days if old electronic stuff breaks, I go buy a new one.

I bought it for the ease in taking pictures and loading film.

Weakness:

I bought this camera 1 and a half years ago and have had to exchange it 4 times because it quits working...there is some kinda problem with the film not taking the pictures.......I have had many pictures missed because of this problem....and a big expense on all the film it has wasted.....

There is some kinda problem with this camera model....which they need to take care of....

Customer Service

I have not had a response from them yet...I contacted them a week ago and still nothing...

Strength:

This is a very handy camera. I bought it because my wife had trouble loading 35mm. It has been used extensively in various situations and has always taken good pictures.

Weakness:

Right before the warranty expired, the zoom quit working.
the controls seem to be too small and not placed very well.
And of course there is the film variety and processing costs.

This camera was bought as a convenience for my wife but it made me take interest in APS. I am thinking very hard about a Canon IX-Lite. This camera would be suited for the occasional user who does not want to become proficient in 35mm.

Customer Service

Minoltas customer service corrected the zoom problem but it took about 3 weeks.

Strength:

I've only had it for a year, but it is small and light. The Zoom is easy to use, and I like the multiple stops that are built into it. Most of the controls on the back panel are easy to understand. The panoramic pictures came out much sharper than a similar Kodak camera.

Weakness:

Control to switch between picture formats (to Panoramic) is not very handy. Need the ability to attach a Neck Strap. Wrist strap is not practical, and the shape of the camera makes it too easy to fumble getting it out of your pocket.

Pleasing pictures, good zoom capabilities. Weight makes it easy to carry while walking. Camera takes good "people" pictures as well as panoramic pictures. Get a neck strap attached somehow and you'll be even happier.

Customer Service

Haven't had to worry yet.

Strength:

Small and handy camera.

Weakness:

Yes, it is not as weather proof as it's claimed to be. After two years it stopped working...

Úse the camera with care, don't use it outdoors when it's cold or rainy, the weather proof tag is just for fun - doesn't help. I used it to take photos outdoors, both winter and summer, for two years. Now it's history, it rewinded the film after the first shot on every new APS roll. The repair would have costed more than a new camera, that if the guarantee is out of date, like mine was after two years...

The development and price of the APS films is more than ordinary 35mm film. Next camera I'll get will be an 35mm 3x zoom, no more APS...

Customer Service

If the camera stop functioning after the guarantee exceeds, then the repair is NOT cheap. I ended up with no camera after that I sent it for repair. The repair would have costed as much as a new camera.... :-(

Strength:

This is a nice small camera. That is pretty simple to use. The instructions are self explanatory-not like some that you have to read over and over. It also takes very, very clear pictures. I had professional pictures of my daughter taken and then I took a couple snap-shots of her posing. I had the majority of the people say that my camera took better pictures than the profession.

Weakness:

I had 1 problem which ended up being the fault of the film cassette. It jammed in my camera and I had to send it in. One thing that I don't care for with the APS is that most developers will not use matte finish on your photos.

I looked at many cameras for a long time before I made this decision. For what I take pictures of and the amount I take, This is the best deal I found with the features I wanted.

Customer Service

I sent my camera in 2 weeks before my baby was due-I asked that they put a rush on it and ship it back to ASAP. I got it back in 1 week-Boy were we impressed.
