Strength:

Great Design - Wonderful Options - Easy to Use

Weakness:

TERRIBLE PICTURES - Outside the color was faded and the focus wasn't sharp even on a sunny day - Inside the pictures were even worse and the flash was extremely short. I paid a premium for a good color lab on this APS film and that still didn't help.

SAVE YOUR MONEY! It doesn't matter how great a camera looks and handles if the pictures are terrible.

Strength:

It is compact, rugged, and highly automated.

Weakness:

Terrible picture quality. I think this is a consequence of the small aperture lens and small film format. Grainy, fast film is a must. Weak flash to boot.

I usually use a heavy duty 35mm camera, and was looking for a small camera I could carry everywhere. This is definitely not the answer. Just about any 35 mm point and shoot would be better, or possibly a lightweight electronic camera. The Nuvis S picture quality is just too poor to be a contender.

Strength:

Sturdy and small, this camera caught my eye because I thought it would be a great camera for carrying around. I was impressed by the zoom lens and stainless steel body.

Weakness:

Horrible photo quality. Pictures dull and grainy. Zoom unimpressive and even though purchased new, the switch for different photo sizes didn't work. Rotten flash. Long stalls between shots- very annoying. Unimpressive...

I was lured in by the Nikon name and relatively high price. I thought that I was purchasing a high quality camera (even for a point and shoot). Upon receiving my first roll of film back, I was astonished by the low quality of the photos. First, this is definitely NOT an indoor camera. Shots came out underexposed even in bright light. Flash doesn't reach very far and if you get close up, camera won't focus. The only shots that came out were in bright daylight, and to be honest, they weren't that great. Superficial features don't add up to a whole lot if you can't get a good picture.

Strength:

This camera is great for sliding into a shirt pocket and taking everywhere. I traded my Minolta 140EX 35mm for this so that I didn't have to carry a separate case everywhere.

I also love the mid-roll change feature. I carry Fuji IX slide film, B&W and print film that I can change between.

This camera is great for party-goers and those on the move who don't want to carry an SLR (or even a 35mm point and shoot).

Weakness:

No problems yet. I have had great results from this camera.

Great camera! I use this as a back-up to my SLR and to take shots on multiple film types when I can't easily change my SLR film. The fact that this camera fits into my shirt pocket means that it goes everywhere with me, so I now have pictures that I wouldn't have normally been able to take. The price has recently dropped in the UK to £169 so it is becoming more affordable.

Customer Service

I haven't needed any. All the prints have been razor sharp (a surprise to me after my experience with the Canon EOS IX).

Strength:

This is the first APS camera I have ever owned. I thought it was a great design,it seemed very safe and sturdy when it was not in the case. It also had some great features.

Weakness:

No major problems besides spending $450 on a camera and getting fuzzy, blurry shots half the time.

I was so happy to be able to buy a nice camera for once in my life, and I ended up with this. I will make sure to research more before I buy again. Overall, very disappointed with this purchase.

Strength:

Compact design. No need for a carrying case--camera can be slipped easily into a pocket and ready to shoot in a moment. Great features: Date, captions, zoom. APS offers great convenience; easy loading, mid-roll change.

Weakness:

Photo quality is not nearly as clear as 35mm. A serious problem!

Had to return camera. Great features, but the picture clarity is poor.

Strength:

This camera is very small and self shielded by it's metalic cover. Although a carrying case is provided with it, the camera itself is a case.
It has a 3X zoom unlike most APS cameras with only 2X.
The design and size of the camera is cute and practical.
It has a quiet zoom mechanism. The shutter is even more silent.
This camera focuses nearly under any light condition.
It is impressive how the camera activates the flash under back-lit-subject conditions.
This camera even has a diopter adjustment control for the viewfinder.
No need to push a button to turn on the camera; you just open the case and voilà...
This is my 3rd Nikon camera, and Nikon has not disappointed me yet.

Weakness:

Flash distance is too small. It's range is about 3 to 4 meters with an 200 ISO film.
The Zoom mechanism is not as smooth as I thought. It has small incremental steps.
I often unintentionally hide the flash with my hand. In other words, the flash is placed awkwardly. (On the other hand, you quickly get used to it...)
Lens speed too slow compared to canon models. Canon has an starting aperture of about f/4.2 ~ f/4.8; This camera starts at f/5.6.
This gadget requires a CR2 type battery. Not as popular as the CR123, AAA, or the AA types.
This camera is probably the most expensive APS camera in its class. It is not necessarily the best.

Great camera. Too bad the price is not as competitive other models. APS cameras are small; that is the main reason why I bought this camera. Don't expect 35mm quality, or you'll be dissapointed. This camera is really made to carry around and for casual photos.

Customer Service

It offers 3 years of service. That is all I can say at this moment.

Strength:

Small, compact and metal bodied. I bought this camera because it could fit anywhere and was almost indestructible

Weakness:

Terrible autofocus which becomes worse in low light. Pictures are always a little blurred. I actually get better photos from and APS disposable.

The picture quality was terrible. I bought this camera on spec believing that I couldn't go too far wrong with the Nikon name. I was sure I would get a resonable point and shoot in the rugged, protective body I wanted for travel.

I couldn't have been more wrong. This has to be one of Nikon's biggest lemons.

Strength:

easy to use, very handy size, sharp shots.
Nice design

Weakness:

I prefer to have a bit ighter in weight, easier to put in my holiday's bag.
No auto shots, I cannot make my own photographs.
Less shops to develop photographs, not possible to have 1-hour service.

Recommended camera for amateur, APS is durable.
Price is still high for compact camera.

Strength:

Well...it looks nice, it's very compact....that's about it!

Weakness:

Been said here before but my main criticisms are - Takes very poor pictures even under the best lighting conditions. Shutter delay unbearable.

A bit of an impulse buy...but I checked some of the photography magazines beforehand and they all said it was a pretty good camera, some even giving it a "Best Buy" rating.

After 6 rolls of film I've just returned it even though it's 7 months old. Initally I thought it was me but after a bit of searching, I came across this site - reading all the poor reviews, I knew I'd bought a lemon.

I'm now getting a Rollei Nano 80 (5-star rating) and I'd advise anyone else who's also unhappy with their Nuvis to go get a refund.

Customer Service

Telephoned Nikon UK customer services to complain and they said it was an excellent camera and hadn't had any complaints. I told them to take a look at the reviews here.
