My only worry is if the films are available.

I update my 553elx to 555eld. There function doesn't have too much differnet. But I can feel 555eld has faster motor drive speed. Another resaon I update to 555eld because it helps you to use CFV digital back more convience without any cable. If you are using the Live View function on digital back with 500 series body, you have to do the Mirror Lock－Up and winding by manual control every times. 555eld also has auto sync with CFV digital back.

maybe too heave for someone, but I'm used to it.
