Strength:

good shutter speed range fine lens, sharp, contrasty little flare powerful and useful flash comprehensive feature set

Weakness:

top deck lcd has no illumination a little portly squinty viewfinder

Have used mine for 2 years with excellent results. Over 50 rolls run through it in numerous visits to Disney. Banged it around a fair bit and does not seem worst for the wear. My preferred 28-xxx p&s for daily use

Strength:

28mm wide angle, good metering, excellent for night scene, aspherical elements, macro shot ability, large & clear LCD, fast to swtich on/off, easy to control, attractive look/price

Weakness:

noticeable distortion & dark corners at wide end, auto-feature-reset

It''s been 8 months'' time since my purchase. Having taken over a dozen rolls of film, the updated Riva 75W proves itself an excellent & reliable performer(as my old Riva 70W). The print results generally look well exposed and saturated with nice colours. The pictures taken at night time & low light condition are better than most other p&s of the class. Some pictures I took for reference: http://www.photo.net/photodb/folder?folder_id=121956

Strength:

It's a compact camera. I liked the night portrait feature, the macro mode, and the two-function remote control.

Weakness:

1. Lens was not too sharp.
2. Unless the subject was very near the center of the frame, the auto focus function might miss the subject and focus on the background.
3. The tripod socket was off to the edge of the camera, so it tended to tip my mini-tripod.
4. The view finder is quite small and can be a bit hard to locate when taking vertical pictures.

I returned it and got another camera.

Strength:

sharp accurate colors aspherical lens, red eye reduction works always, full 28mm wide

Weakness:

could have a longer Zoom

This is a camera I can pick it up and shoot with confidence at those spur of the moment opportunities. Not so intimidating as slr's for people shooting.
