Strength:
Superb lens
Weakness:
Not much manual control, such as Aperture priority. I carry both Nikon F90X with 35 - 70mm F2.8 and Leica Minilux zoom for my trip to Japan. The result obtained from Nikon is very disappointing when compared to Leica, in term of sharpness and color. Similar Products Used: Nikon F90X |

Strength:
Sharpness rivals the best SLR's
Weakness:
None This camera's Vario-Elmar lens is so sharp, it makes the day-to-day photographer competitive with the pro. My wife still has doubts about it's ability to "point and shoot" at action pictures like kids jumping into a lake or wakeboarding without blurriness. The 1/250 speed may not be enough. Haven't tried it yet. We'll see. Customer Service Not needed yet Similar Products Used: Pentax, Nikon, Haselblad SLR's |

Casual
Strength:
Razor sharp picture. True color. Outperform many SLR cameras including Canon, Nikon .etc.
Weakness:
Expensive. But you get what you pay for. I would strongly recommend this Leica Minilux Zoom. It is indeed the best Point & Shoot camera. Customer Service Cal's Camera & Video provide first class service. Similar Products Used: Hassenblad, Canon A1, Nikon F1, Leica R series, Contax and many other digital cameras. |

Casual
Strength:
robust construction--titanium body
Weakness:
battery life (flash sux) I like the camera (more importantly my wife likes it and she uses it!) but the reliability issue is going to drop my rating...where do they make these things...EAST Germany? Customer Service Unknown, but probably slow...in for repair 11/21. Similar Products Used: Nikon AF |

I've taken around 100 rolls from this great camera. With a little bit of practice I was able to take stunning photos of landscapes and portraits. B&W protraits have movie star quality your relatives will rave about!
Weakness:
Something no one else seems to have had a problem with, is how the camera and flash will turn themselves on in a pocket. Spent 3 batteries in the first month! Used duct tape to prevent this! Would also like more f stops. For a simple point and shoot one can impress anyone with the quality of the pictures. Worth the money. Do get insurance. Its too expensive to risk breaking it! Customer Service Don't know. Only 1 year long. Similar Products Used: Olympus stylus, Canon SLR |

Beginner
Strength:
Small, quiet, handsome, sexy, fill in flash, well built and strong
Weakness:
A bit too heavy and a small viewfinder but after a while you get used to. Leathercase not included (had to buy one). I am a beginner but I read every day everything about photography, I go to the photographic school, I understand what a camera does and how it thinks. For candid photograhy, nothing beats my Leica minilux zoom. I shoot pictures for which I have only a few seconds to do it. Point and shoot and the Leica does everything in a pro manner. Too expensive for most, but for me it is a bargain. Hopefully it can put the M6 out of my mind, otherwise my wife will become mad at me. On the other hand, the Leica is so forgiven, it gives my wife and my little daughter of seven years old the opportunity to make beautiful pictures. What a life! Customer Service None so far but probably good. Similar Products Used: Nikkormat FT3, Fujica. All SLR and heavy. |

OPTICS, OPTICS and Optics
Weakness:
lack of features .. I haved asked people through the years which camera, Contax TVS series or Leica Minilux Zoom has better optics. I have borrowed a contax TVS11 and Owned a TVS111. . I can now tell you from first hand experience that there is no comparison. the Leica has superior optics ... no question. The Leica does lack in control features. It is truly a point and shoot camera. It does have manual focus but it's useless. When i opened the box and realized how this camera was lacking of manual control I decided to return it. When I saw my developed photos I smiled and decided to keep the camera. Similar Products Used: contax rts, contax TVS11 and TVS111 |

Strength:
No light fall-off.
Weakness:
People wanting to borrow it. This camera produces the results that I expect from Leica. I had read the reviews and thankfully the camera easily lived up to the hype. It's easily better than the Sigma SLRs that I have used and I place it above the Canon too. After my first roll of film, even my mother was impressed by the quality of the shots, even though they were of mundane subjects, she was able to see the Leica image quality jumping out at her. She didn't know what camera I had used but felt compelled to say it. Now that's a really good approval rating !!! To be honest, I find the viewfinder to be a perfect size and it somehow gives real depth to the scene. The camera easily fits in my jacket pocket and is nicely weighted, it is my constant companion and it's just begs to be used the whole time, it's that easy. Customer Service None as yet. The lens !!!
Weakness:
The viewfinder could be a little bigger. The sharpness and exposure of the photos from this camera are amazing. Phenomenal lens, after my first roll of film i was impressed by the quality of the shots and by the great interpretation of colors and extended tone. You can get brilliant pictures even in adverse lighting conditions. Customer Service No tried. Similar Products Used: Yashica/Sigma lens |
