Strength:

The ability to switch between panorama and regular is a plus. The pictures are usually sharp and clear, and once I accidentally opened the back (thought there was no film) and for the heck of it, I continued taking pictures -- the majority of them came out, and the middle photo where I opened the back had a weird color wash, but the subject matter was still intact (actually it was a neat effect, not that I would do it again).

Weakness:

Sometimes it seems to delay before taking the shot, although that may be me not being used to it (camera is still new). Also, when the date prints on the photo, it is too big in my opinion, and it's not in the corner -- it's about 1" in from the right, and maybe 1/2" up from the top. This is a major deterrent as my previous camera had a much more subtle date-stamp.

Overall, this is a great camera! I love the flexibility it gives me when taking pictures. It does take some getting used to (still trying to work out getting it to shoot exactly when I press the button rather than 2 or 3 seconds later) and you do have to hold very still or you get blurred pictures, but it's lightweight and handy to use. It would have been nice if it had come with it's own case, though (I had to buy one separately).

Haven't had to contactl Customer Service. The manual is helpful, though.

Strength:

- Razor sharp lens (Comparable to SLRs !)
- Accurate metering & fill flash
- Slient operation
- Ease of use and comprehansive user manual
- Various Flash modes
- Infinity focus (good for tour)

Weakness:

- Slow response shutter
- Flash easily blocked my hands
- AF accuracy!
(I can't think of any differences between two out-focused pictures taken by a Nikkor ED/ EF L lens and a disposable toy camera!)

Here in HK, a test performed by the consumer council also highlighted the AF problem. This problem can only overcome by taking a shot few times. It is a waste of it's excellent optical quality and accurate exposure but this is an excellent unit for taking landscape with the use of infinity focus function. So if you are looking for top picture quality in this price range, this would be a highly recommandable choice. But if you want a more reliable compact cam or for extra features, do try Canon instead for higher level of satisfaction.

Light, relatively compact for a 110mm. zoom camera, Nikon reliability, excellent picture quality.

At the price I paid $89.95 (Factory Refurbished) at Focuscamera.com, it cant be beat. They also gave me for free 3 rolls of Fujifilm. This camera in non-quartz date, is currently sold for $175-$225 at any retailer.

Strength:

Ilove taking close-ups. It takes excellent portrait like pictures.

Weakness:

Maybe because I'm a beginner but I see none.

A friend of mine took pictures of my then 5 month old. When I saw them I knew I wanted to take pictures like those. Not knowing much about cameras I looked around and got this one on clearance sale. I haven't been disappointed. When I go to my in-laws I'm always asked if I brought my camera because (they say) I take good pictures.

Customer Service

I've had my camera a year now and so far no problems with it.The manuel was easy to understand and a great help.

Strength:

Excellent picture quality.

Weakness:

Bulky, Heavy, Low reliability, Not a good night shooter.

Great camera for the price if you get to use it more than 3 months. The optical quality is A-1 but after 3 months of normal use the camera got stuck in panorama mode and the zoom started making some strange noises and eventually got stuck. Unfortunately I bought it as a refurb. which has a 90 day warranty that already expired. I would recommend another camera, especially if you want something light and small. All this is dissapointing since I really like Nikon cameras.

Strength:

Compact size
Felt sturdy
Zoom range
Flash is fixed in position

Weakness:

Weak flash - not really a weakness in this class of camera

This is my first P/S but did buy and returned an Olympus Stylus something. I also toyed with Minoltas and Canons. I liked the mechanical sound, which is somewhat sweet compared to other P/S. Construction is nice and held up to some abuse. It was dropped once 5 feet to the floor. The lens was in retracked position. Nothing was broken and is still working todate. The camera is more than 3 years old.

It has seen a lot of actions and travelled with me to many places during a period when I did not feel like using an SLR. However, all that was changed about a month ago when I did a major upgrade of my SLR system. Now, I am using my SLR and not much the P/S. I think this will change in time when I am tired of carrying all the gear.

Strength:

I used this for the first time on a trip to Europe and was impressed by how easy it was to use. It also allowed for some close up shots with the 38-110 zoom.

Weakness:

Once the camera told me that it had no film in it and when opened I found that it did contain film which was then exposed.

I think is a great camera for the money

I love the camera but would like to have the manual(I bought a floor model w/ no paperwork). I had a NIKON before and loved it. I was so thrilled to purchase another one in June for my birthday.

Customer Service

I called for an instruction manual 10 weeks ago and they were out. I still have not gotten one.
