Strength:

Good Sharp pictures, nice zoom, flash, autofocus. Easy to use. Date function easy and flexible. Novice is able to take very good pictures with little or no direction.

Weakness:

Poorly built. Cheap Plastic construction. Broken in 2 years with over a $100 repair bill estimate. This is not the same kind of Nikon you get with higher priced models.

Features are all there for this model but construction quality is poor. Given Nikon's reputation, this type of camera will continue to improve. This camera may be useful for the occasional "Christmas Shot" but cannot take normal wear and tear usage.

Strength:

Decent overall pictures
Lightweight

Weakness:

Somewhat cheaply built in China
Slow zoom operation; buttons on top
Mid-roll rewind button can get stuck
Not for steady/heavy use

This camera was purchased mainly due to the Nikon name. It did not live up to expectations! Recently (after not quite two years of well-protected ownership),
the autofocus system quit, causing the shutter not to release. Also, the leaf-type lens
cover stopped closing fully when the zoom retracted during power-down. Very
frustrating, especially when in the field. I canned it for a Canon Suershot 85 Zoom
Platinum. This camera should be purchased only for occasional use and, for me, was
not dependable at all.

Strength:

fairly easy to use

Weakness:

slow response, even w/o flash

A pretty good camera, got a lot of good photos but something got caught internally with motor advance, and (see above) nikon corporate repair center in NY wants $89 to fix! other companies that I have sent products (products that failed, not broken or abused) into for repairs send back a new one or repair it no questions asked. those companies/manufacturers will have my business FOREVER! Nikon will not EVER sell me another product! Have one of your employees take a Business 101 class, Nikon......maybe keep some customers instead of driving them away!

Customer Service

ok, but repair estimate is ridiculous. imo, companies that take care of repairs or replace faulty product, even out of warranty (within reason) will build customer satisfaction in the long term that will bring back their $ lost exponentially. instead, they gouge you & want $89 to repair a $100 2 year old camera!

Strength:

Ease of Use. I really like the quartz date feature.

Weakness:

A little too long with the red eye flash. Batteries seem to run out quickly.

This camera takes great pictures. I've found that my pictures come out even better when I read the manual and learn about the settings. The zoom is wonderful and I now have some great close-ups of my family.

Strength:

The camera is very easy to use. I obtain clear shots every time using the flash features and the zoom lens. It's more fun to take pictures when they turn out this good!

Weakness:

The red-eye feature works well, but my subjects (kids) don't tend to sit still through both flashes. Not the camera's fault, though!

I would suggest this camera to anyone wanting an easy-to-use camera that delivers clear, beautiful pictures.
