Strength:

A very versatile, compact point & shoot. Has a host of extremely useful features like spot metering, low-level flash, & panoramic cropping. The retro design is very cool & the weatherproofing comes in handy. For a zoom, the lens performs very well in typical snapshot situations.

Weakness:

Like all point & shoot zooms, the lens is very slow. As a result, the LT doesn't handle low-light, non-flash situations (like the inside of cathedrals) very well. I would also like to see an infinity focus setting. You also pay extra for the cool industrial design.

A good-quality, extremely portable, & feature-packed point & shoot with a distinctive design. A perfect travel camera.

Strength:

I bought it originally for snapshots. I use it now for professional photography of High Sierra landscapes. I'm amazed at the lens quality. I have made many enlargements for successful sale with this camera. Easy to tote in the wilderness. Autofocus and autoexposure excellent. Fill flash great. Can focus "manually." On many levels, beats my SLR. Has variable diopter for viewfinder -- great if you need glasses.

Weakness:

Automatically goes to flash mode. Must remember to override this for bright exteriors. Filters not available, as far as I know. Rangefinder a bit tough to learn at close-up range.

Has to be the absolute best of the "point and shoot" cameras, equal in many ways to SLR's in terms of resultant photo quality/sharpness. Looks great, feels great, shoots great. Has obvious limitations vs. SLR's, but for what it is, there's nothing better!

Strength:

Compact, light, convenient. Wonderful lens--pictures have excellent color and contrast.

Weakness:

Lens is too slow for use with slower films (which I prefer to avoid grain, but of course most of these cameras are designed for use with 400 speed film), particularly on zoom. No manual override for shooting in low-light conditions. Nasty parallax on closeups. Focussing problems with extreme closeups. Have had two film jams--or premature film rewinds (fortunately no exposures lost; this could, of course, be a film perfing problem, not a camera problem). Admittedly, the camera is rather pricey.

I've taken a lot of great pictures with this camera but the framing problems and low-light problems are inclining me to the purchase of a more versatile SLR with manual capability. For those who want a quality point-and-shoot and don't want to get involved with aperture settings and shutter speeds, this is it.

Customer Service

Visited an official service center with jammed camera--got immediate attention and no charge!

Picture quality, good zoom, good selection of picture taking modes, nice retro look.

Weakness:

none.

Great looking, Great quality photos. Used it while traveling and put it to hard use, The most trouble free camera I have used. The only down side I can think of is that you do pay for the nice retro look, but IMO its $$$ well spent.

Strength:

TOUGH. Great photos. Every useful feature I would want for an everyday camera.

Weakness:

Can be a little slow to get ready for a 'quick' shot, it's a little more than 'point and click'. A little heavy.

I have used this camera for almost 2 years, and I have few complaints. It does a great job as an everyday camera, has many features that limit bad photos. This is a TOUGH camera. It has taken several falls without any damage. I got tired of buying cameras every 3-4 years, I think I will pass this one down to my kids in 20 years. As to the complaints of it being expensive, I think, in this case, you get what you pay for. I rate it a great value based on 20 years of use rather than 3, which is standard for these P&S cameras for me. I bought it at a great discount online, have had NO problems. I highly recommend and would buy again.

Strength:

Great camera for amateurs and beginners! Close-up shots looked like it has been taken professionally. High on features and thet are easy to use. A very hardy camera.

Weakness:

Despite claims that it doesn't need any casing - it does as it is easy to be turned on by itself. Lens a bit too slow.

I am just a casual photographer but with this camera, my pictures looked like I have been to photography school! The camera works wonders with 400 speed film. The nightshot is also a great feature.

Strength:

It's compact, sharp looking, and has spot-metering in a compact p/s.

Weakness:

The on/off switch is on the camera face, and can be easily turned on, just by bumping around in a briefcase. Olympus promotes it as 'case free', but it really needs a case to prevent accidental turn-on situations.

A good looking, good performing camera that gets sharp images. It isn't pocket-sized, and is pricier than its non-leather Olympus cousin (by $70!). But if you want a distinctive camera with good optics and metering, look for one of these.

Customer Service

Not applicable. It works fine. Olympus products are widely available; it's not like it's a rare breed that can't be serviced.

Strength:

Elegant compact retro design, with a wealth of valuable features

Weakness:

Nope.

This is a terrific little camera. I wish it went wider than just 38 at the shorter end, but that's a small quibble. The pictures it takes are sharp, contrasty, consistently very good. It's easy to carry and use, and the size is just right -- small enough to tuck in a fanny pack or shirt pocket, but large enough to give you a little heft so you don't wobble or shake. Best of all: of all the point and shoots I've tried, it has the least amount of red eye with flash. (A tremendous asset!) And it's snazzy-looking, too.

Strength:

compact can carry it around but still have the versatility of a zoom camera. It also has the chose of regular or panoramic shots. I like that and it isn't aps.

Weakness:

It makes too much noise when the lens zooms it is very distracting during a quiet moment.

If I had to chose all over again.I'd buy something else.
