Strength:

Ease of use, adequate zoom, plenty of functions and powerful enough flash.

Weakness:

Slow autofocus, lack of manual focus and no auto close lens cap.

Beginners will have no problems in using this camera, while the more knowledgable user will be satisfied with the ability of the camera to have it's exposures manualy set. Great quality pictures no matter what experience you have. Great Buy.

Strength:

Ease of use,DROP DEAD LOOK'S!!!!

Weakness:

Can take a bit between shot's,but the positive's FAR OUTWEIGH the negative's.

Well,I wanted a camera that was better than a point and shoot, but I did not want to change lenses, and fool around with f stop's and things.I am an audiophile, and am a firm believer in you only get what you pay for.I looked at a Canon Elph and a couple other little cute see job's but the FEEL of this OLYMPUS and the look I just had to have it.I believe the optic's are far superior than any point and shoot,I just wanted something better than a P and S. This my friend's is the Cadillac of point and shoot's.color saturation with good film [and lab]is outstanding.Panaramic shot's are also nice [but pricey] a buck a piece to develop.Do yourself a favor JUST DO IT GO BUY ONE!!!!!!!!! I base my decision on the strenght of these reviews.A beginner like me [who appreciates quality] can take MAGNIFICENT picture's.Like I said the CADILLAC of point and shoot [fully automatic] if you want it that way camera's.Sleek look's to die for, motorized zoom and options too numerous to mention it is just a CLASS PIECE.Run to your nearest dealer to check one out ,you'll be glad you did!!!!!!!!

I bought this camera for my wife to take pictures of our daughter who is 18 months old. She actually got it while I was out of town. She loaded film, shot the roll & got them developed by herself......At least half the pictures are perfect. The rest are good. It's perfect for someone who just wants to take good pictures. No learning curve!

Strength:

Ease of use.

Weakness:

Lens cap.
It took me a while to learn how much film to pull out of the roll so it will load correctly.

I love this line of cameras. I used to have a Canon AE-1, and I hated having to carry several lenses, switch them, etc. This camera covers the range I need (28 to 110mm), has a built-in flash, and is an SLR. Its perfect for someone like me, who wants a point-and-shoot that lets you use SLR and a zoom lens (instead of an assortment of lenses and a dark room) to compose your shot. My only problem has been that, for some reason, my pictures are sometimes underexposed. I thought the Exposure Compensation feature would fix this (I tried using it to intentionally overexpose some pictures), but it didn't help because, as the manual says, "When negative color film is used, the exposure compensation effect may be almost indistinguishable in prints." I'm going to see if using faster film along with the Spot Metering feature will correct the problem. Bottom line, this camera lets me concentrate on taking pictures instead of working the controls.

Customer Service

We'll see. When I got the camera, the panoramic mode was broken, so I've sent it in to be fixed under warranty.

Strength:

Sharp, clear pictures even in movement mode which is a wonderful feature when photographing children.

Weakness:

Lens cover is terrible, very poorly constructed. Second time it broke within a year and a half, I broke it off completely & went out & bought a lens cover that fit. Also very slow zoom.

Wanted a simple Point & Shoot but needed something with a few more options. This camera is perfect for my needs. I've gotten beautiful pictures of my grandchildren & many compliments on scenery shots.

Customer Service

When lens cover cracked off, I was told it would cost me over $150 to have repaired, even though it was within the warranty time & I had paid for extra insurance from Alkit. After months of arguing, my camera was finally fixed without cost to me. The second time the lens cover cracked off, I decided not to bother sending it in again even though it was still within the warranty.

I was very excited when I purchased this camera. Auto focus, zoom, sleek. Very easy for a beginner except that every single shot was out of focus. I brought it back and the salesclerk took 12 photos, developed them and still out of focus. Color was fantastic but the picture was not sharp. So I returned the camera.
I think it was the camera and will buy another one from another store and see what happens. I love the camera.

Strength:

Perferct Grip

Weakness:

Low Flexibility
Exposure control

If One can invest some more one should go for Nikon, Pentax etc. Not able to control my exposure is not good. It has spot metering which is not very accurate.
