Rollei Prego Zoom Point and Shoot

DESCRIPTION

The Rollei Prego Zooom has a 35-70mm zoom that provides creative composition control yet keeps the camera compact enough for purse or pocket. The lens' Schneider quality and precision active infrared autofocus system insure razor-sharp shots even in dim light.

Strength:

handles well Small size

Weakness:

Budget lens and budget quality pictures No exposure lock On/off switch is very small

Not very impressed I'm afraid, the picture quality can be quite good, but in demanding light I found the photos have a washed out look and indoor flash has a lot of red-eye and washed out faces. I've decided to buy something to replace it.

Strength:

The zoom. The array of programs and flash options. The quality of the lens. The size. The quality of the images that come back from the developer.

Weakness:

Lack of depth of field. The time it sometimes takes for the flash to recharge. After 5 years the on/off button is getting a little slushy; but I''ve had it in constant use all the time. It''s a point and shoot, so it can''t totally replace a full SLR system.

This little camera has an excellent lens, sharp, clean and clear. The size is perfect to haul around in a pocket, and in the 5 years since I''ve had it, it''s never failed, even when I''ve dropped it! Never had to use the three year warranty. About the only thing this elaborately programmed camera CAN''T do is give you a blurred background with a shallow depth of field like a full size SLR can. It''s a great back-up in case your SLR goes wonky if you''re a traveler, and wonderful for a mother who wants great shots with some possible creativity of her kids (like me); or for anyone who doesn''t want to haul around a larger camera.

NEVER had to use it

I''ve used a $80 SLR (canon?) for a few years that was utterly frustrating.

Strength:

Excellent Lens, extremely light & small, perfect viewfinder, responsive, easy to use, Rollei quality.

Weakness:

None

The Prego zoom 70 is definitely the best 70mm. zoom camera I have used. Crystal clear results, nicely presented box, leather case etc. a steal at $155.
Its a Rollei!

Customer Service

Have not used it and with previous Rollei experience, I doubt I will have too.
