    Strength:

Excellent point and shoot zoom lens Excellent sharpness and contrast Wide angle (28mm) Very good flash coverage, even at 28m Quiet Excellent fast focusing, even in low light Nice grey aluminum, relatively small body Nice shutter button Exposure compensation control Spot focus Nice case

    Weakness:

Dim and small viewfinder Diopter control too easily moved Wide angle shutter lag Zoom toggle feels cheap Heavy vignetting wide open at 28mm

Slightly dim and small viewfinder, slightly difficult to center (Lexio 70 has a very nice viewfinder). The diopter adjustment can be easily moved and I had to adjust it many times in just several days. I might superglue mine. T4 Zoom is quiet. Wide angle has high shutter lag, normal to moderate telephoto angle has less shutter lag. Passive autofocus, no distance indication, but I had 0 out of focus pictures, even in dim light. Autofocus is fairly fast. Fairly nice built, nice grey aluminum finish with nice grip. Zoom toggle feels a bit cheap. Shutter button is nice, easy to push without shaking the camera. Nice button system. One button for exposure compensation (1 push for +1.5, 2 pushes for -1.5) and one button for flash options (2 pushes for non-flash, 4 pushes for fill-flash). Also spot focus if you hold the on/off button a few seconds longer at the start-up. Nice case with belt loop. Picture Quality - Took one roll with Fuji 400 ASA Superia. Contrast and sharpness is excellent, reminds me of my old Yashica T4. Outperformed Lexio 70 that I had for comparison. Seems to slightly underexpose in general but I'll have to use it more to be sure (I use print film and perhaps its really set for slides, ie don't overexpose). Heavy vignetting at 28mm when wide open in bottom corners is the only vice of this excellent point and shoot lens, acceptable when stopped down. Flash coverage is very good, even at 28mm and fill flash is well done. Overall, pretty good bargain at $200. Buying the camera for my mom and have already recommended it to my friends who want a zoom. I would purchase one for myself if I want a zoom point and shoot. I generally like my lens a bit faster though and thus I probably will continue to point and shoot with my Olympus Stylus Epic.

    Strength:

Sharp Lens Excellent Flash for P&S Long time exposure mode. Remote . Very user friendly! Focal lengths specifically defined by each tap of the zoom button .

    Weakness:

No indication of "camera shake" or for that matter that the flash is going to be used. . Surprising this was omitted. Could cause a problem for novices.

Excellent optics: Just shot one roll of 200 film under many conditions . Camera excels in sharpness, exposure and user friendly useful features. Flash exposures are excellent, indoors and out. Contrast is also excellent. Since I own the original T4 , I've been waiting for a zoom version and finally it's here. something like this and finally it's here.

    Strength:

The lens is razor sharp. The range of the zoom is what most people need. The compactness is wonderfully useful. The ergonomics are first-rate. This camera is the new standard for point and shoot cameras. The aluminum front and metallic buttons are a very thoughtful touch. When Yashica brought back the T4 design by popular demand they really thought this thing out. The really important thing is the excellence of the pictures that unit easily makes. The extras $20 for the case and the remote control is an excellent option.

    Weakness:

    None I can find (yet).

This is a nice little camera that is compact, easy to use, and utterly reliable in capturing a proper exposure.
