This item is designed to fail. It has a hinge that if a student opens it too far even once, it breaks. Furthermore, there is no good way to repair it. I once talked with a technician from Beseler who told me the best thing to do is duct tape it back together. We have a lab full of these beasts and waste far too much money replacing negative carriers. By contrast, I have never had to replace a carrier for a Beseler 23C.

This negative carrier is for applications where you would like to have total access to your complete 35mm negative area.(#6738). The similar model (#6737) is a bit smaller and "frames" your negative, allowing the bulk of the negative to be used, but not the complete negative, as the #6738. Either will print equally well, but it just depends on your particular tastes in printing. This is a well-made negative carrier, and will last many years if treated properly. Some instructors in institutions will require that a FF (Full Frame) carrier be used in beginning classes. This would be the carrier that you want, if you have a 67C or Printmaker 35, and will be making your own prints at home.--WONDERFUL PRODUCT!!!
