The A/C power adapter has been included to supply power when stacking or connecting additional hubs and/or USB devices or peripherals that may require additional power to function properly. The built-in SmartCard Reader/Writer will act as a removable disk drive allowing you to transfer data between you computer and SmartCard storage devices (media not included).
