Agfa introduced the StudioStar color scanner, the newest model in its popular line of StudioScan office and personal scanners. By emphasizing its accuracy and speed, Agfa is positioning this new flatbed scanner for graphic and office applications, as well as high-volume document management.? ?A number of hardware improvement accounts for StudioStar's high productivity. It employs two cold cathode lamps instead of one, a change which doubles the amount of light and substantially decreases the scanning time for one image. StudioStar also reads the three CCD lines (RGB) in parallel rather than serially, making it three times faster.
