Its 48-bit color and a maximum hardware resolution of up to 2,400 dpi help deliver vivid, true-to-life images, while eight one-touch buttons (scan to e-mail, copy, share-to-Web, and more) and scan preview times of as little as eight seconds help save valuable time. A 16-character LCD screen lets you know the status of your scans as they happen, while a transparency adapter helps you get high quality scans of 35mm negatives and slides. The 5490Cxi connects via either USB or parallel port and has a maximum scanning size of 8.5 by 11.7 inches (or 8.5 by 14 inches with optional automatic document feeder).
