Kodak Panatomic-X Aerographic II Black and White Film

Kodak Panatomic-X Aerographic II Black and White Film

DESCRIPTION

KODAK PANATOMIC-X AEROGRAPHIC II Film 2412 is an intermediate-speed, panchromatic, black-and- white aerial camera film with extended red sensitivity. The 2412 Film has a medium to high contrast, extremely fine grain, and extremely high resolving power. It is best used for medium- to high-altitude mapping, reconnaissance, and other earth resources applications. The film's excellent speed-to-grain relationship provides high definition, resulting in outstanding ground detail in both large and small negative formats. 2412 Film has a 4.0 mil (0.102 mm) ESTAR Base with a dyed-gel backing. The thin, highly hardened emulsion provides high image sharpness, and enable more rapid processing at elevated temperatures in modern continuous-processing machines.

Strength:

Extremely fine grain and tonal range. High red sensitivity for cutting through haze

Weakness:

Rather thin and with a slight curl. Loads fine isn standard filmholders but don't suggest use in Grafmatic holders.

Found the Aero film very accurately cut from rolls on eBay. I use D76 and get super fine grain and extremely wide tonal range. Especially great for scenics due to increased red sensitivity as it cuts through haze.
