Strength:
Among all the films I've used I find the NPS the best for people photography. Really good Skin tone color and very sharp, plus its cheaper than reala!
Weakness:
I don't like the part that I've to store it below 10ºC For people photograph, this is the film to go. Customer Service Non Similar Products Used: Reala, NPH400, Kodak, many more |

Fujicolor NPS 160
Strength:
Gorgeous colours and resolution, especially with the right subject; good compromise in speed between ISO-100 and ISO-200
Weakness:
None whatsoever. When used in the right light and with good subjects, the results are incredible. Very sharp, neutral colour balance [Kodak is way too warm]. 80% of the film I buy and use now is NPS160, the remainder being NPH, Astia, and Agfa APX25 (read THAT review). Customer Service No warranty, no trade-up program, no options, yada yada... IT'S FILM - PLAIN AND SIMPLE! Similar Products Used: Reala (Pro), NPH, Royal Gold |

Great color - skintones are really exceptional. Medium contrast. Little grain. Super for portraits. This is one fine portrait film. Takes flash as well as natural light very well. Colors saturated but not un-natural. Prints look almost like slides, there is that undefinable brilliance - high praise indeed.
Weakness:
Not sure if it can be a fault or not - does not snap out the details like Reala - but that is exactly right for a portrait film. Just don't use it for detail macro or landscape work and expect Reala results. NPS is for people. The best print/negative portrait film around. Portra 160VC is a close second, but NPS has that "internal brilliance" in its deep colors that set it a bit above. Hard to find in some areas - it is worth looking for. Why take slides when you can use film like this. Customer Service Huh? Similar Products Used: Easier to say what I haven't used - let's see, Infrared and B&W. |

Sharp as a TACK! no, RAZOR BLADE! When combined with a good lense, the images are so sharp they burn your eyes! good color also
Weakness:
still errs on the side of 100 speed, just not enough hours of daylight, especially when the best time to photograph is at late afternoon, so a little more speed all you fuji chemists! Expensive! Super sharp, and good color, good buy! Customer Service good, relatively Similar Products Used: NPH 400, Royal Gold (new), Superia 400 X-tra |

Strength:
Extra sharp skin tones! I photograph many dark complexion people and this film gave me some great shots.
Weakness:
Cost was high for my budget. This is my film selection for people shots (Top of the line) I will however continue to use the Fuji 1600 and Kodak Royal Gold 1000 for sports and low light meetings. Very impressive film for shots that go right in my portfolio. Customer Service The FujiFilm.com website is average to say the least. Their customer service gives the same corny pro-Fuji film answers like Kodak. They do know what they are talking about in regards to Fuji and what the films can do. Similar Products Used: Portra and just about every Kodak and Fuji prosumer film. I also like Kodak Royal Gold 1000 for low light meetings where I can't use a flash. |

Strength:
Best grain in colour negative print film. Extremely nice portrait results. Does a terrific job with any application.
Weakness:
Not readily available. Unquestionably the finest grained film I have ever used. Don't confuse sharpness with grain. This film somehow lowers the contrast without compromising the quality of the image. Portrait results are superb, with flesh tones that really compliment your subject. Weddings and fine portraits are definitely when this film hits it's stride. Don't be afraid to use it for holiday shots and subject oriented nature shots. Try it with a long exposure "moving water" shot. Fuji doesnt recommend greater than a one second exposure, but I havent been able to beat this film yet...so let out a little shaft...and let fly. Strength:
Occasionally I have a client who has very, very dark skin tones, this film is the only one that pulls out facial detail. Great for mixed race portraits.
Weakness:
Very, very, very soft contrast, I don't care for that. I like more punch to my outdoor images. The film overall is like a soggy noodle. Read the Fuji literature about this film, they claim that if your used to a 3:1 ratio for studio lighting you should consider trying a 5:1 film. Some people place a high value on soft contrast films and love this film, I however don't. Its not to say that this is a bad film, just that this isn't the right film for me. Similar Products Used: Fuji Reala, much better contrast, and better color punch. Kodak 160VC-A much better outdoor portrait film, Kodak 160NC-Another pro told me that NC stands for "NO COLOR" |
