Strength:

An excellent film. I used this film and a Nikon ED lens at 300mm to photograph a water moccasin swimming below a bridge. The 8x10 was very sharp.

Weakness:

None, except that it is not as sharp as Superia 400

Good film for low light and action.

Strength:

Amazing grain for 800. Excellent colours. Works well with flash, easily pushed to 1600. Good skin tones (not a Reala!!)

Weakness:

When on the rim of flash coverage, the picture gets murky. If you have a camera with only 1/1000 max shutter speed ot below, think twice before taking it to a sunny place. The very strong lighting (in Israel for example) can burn the film.

Excellent 800 film. Make sure you develop at a good lab. I have a lab with FUJI eqiupment and excellent workers, so the colours come out looking more than fine. I photographed a glass exhibit in Jerusalem at night, and then showed the pictures to a veteran photographer (he fought the Nazies). He couldn't believe it was an 800 film.
I didn't use the KODAK 800 film, but was told by quiet a few proffesionals to avoid using Kodak films altogather.

Strength:

Very fine grain for such a high speed film.

Great for shooting wildlife using zooms of 200mm or greater

Weakness:

Some say skin tones become muddy, but I've never done people pictures with this film

If you want to take pictures of birds, deer, and other animals from a distance this is an excellent film at a reasonable price. I've shot several rolls for this purpose and always been pleased.

Strength:

Clear strong colors, small grains. Good for sports. Both shadows and luminated areas printed out well.

Weakness:

Yet to experience. May be a bit too colorful for ultimate realism.

Bought a couple of rolls because 400 was out. Meant to photograph in the evening, but the happening had to be postponed till next mid day. So I had a too fast film in the camera - I thought.

When I finally got the prints I was expecting poor quality. I was amazed. It was like 200 grain with the "Fuji colors". I am going to try to press - may be up to 3200. But also want to try the Kodak version.

Worked well later in the evening too.

Strength:

Exposure latitude. This film can be used day & night in todays pocket sized autofocus point & shoot zooms. The results were always great.

Weakness:

none

The wide exposure latitude amazes me. The day pictures turned out surprisingly well for such a film speed. The night time pictures were also very clear & sharp. I used the 800 for night time parades at Walt Disney world. The night time parades turned out great. One person in our party used 800 day & night. Her pictures look great also. I can't imagine how you can go wrong with this film. The colors are very good. The pictures seem clear & sharp to me. For the price, this film is exceptionally good.

Customer Service

not needed. I use and recomend premium processing. The extra couple of bucks is well worth the results.

Strength:

Very Fine Grain
Sharp !
Good Color
Best 800 speed film.

Weakness:

None

This is the probably the best consumer 800 speed film out there. I cannot tell the difference between this and the pictures taken with 200 or 400 speed . I was very with color as well, the Kodak 800 Max cannot hold a candle to this film. I will probably start and use this as my main indoor film - it is a winner !

Strength:

Incredible sharpness, saturation and enlargability.

Weakness:

No.

That it's much less costly than Kodak's Max 800 notwithstanding, Fuji delivers! Colors saturated. Blacks black. Recently read that Kodak's Max 800 is really a true 640 and I believe it. That's fraudlent.

Model Reviewed: Fujicolor Superia 800

Strength:

Great Color! Better than Kodak. Great in low light and for freezing action, esp. since my hand isn't too steady with the camera.

Weakness:

Occasionally can look a little grainy if the light is too low.

Best of the easily available 800 films and a great film if you shoot indoors a lot and/or like to freeze action or accommodate a shaky camera and still get clear shots!
