Strength:

very crisp, great color, smooth skin tones, almost nonexistent grain, reasonably priced

Weakness:

none

This has to be Kodak's "crown jewel" in consumer films (but it would make a great pro film, too!)-wonderful color, almost nonexistent grain, smooth skin tones, ultra-crisp sharpness, and it's reasonably priced, too! I hope all of you disgruntled Supra 400 users will try it soon, too-it's a great replacement for your oldy-moldy film!

Strength:

Color saturation for the speed

Weakness:

Not as smooth and perfect as Portra UC, but also not as expensive

I bought a 3-pack to try at Phipps Conservatory with an old Zorki Rangefinder. Colors were fantastic and the clarity was quite good even with Wal-Mart processing. Probably the best consumer 400 out there.

Strength:

Cheaper than the film I normally use.

Weakness:

I tend to take lots of pictures, so I don't like 24 exp.

The colorful box caught my eye when I was at Longs. I normally stay away from amateur film, but decided to give it a the 400 HD a try. I used this film at a debutante party. The facility had wood paneling, dim lights. Even with the on camera flash, I had a feeling the photos would turn out bad but,I was amazed at the clarity and grain of the photos! The colors of the flowers and girl's dresses were vivid despite the lighting. It's a product I'd certainly use again for pro bono work.

Strength:

High Quality, good color.

Weakness:

More expensive than Max 400, but not by much where I purchased it.

I took two rolls of this film to Colorado this summer on a backpacking trip, and I was astounded at the picture quality for the inexpensive camera I had ($30 Polaroid 35mm). Performs much better than Max 400 and develops well.

Strength:

Low grain, very high sharpness, the best consumer print film made to date.

Weakness:

none seen, and I am not an easy judge.

This film is so good that I will be shooting less slides from now on. I have never been satisfied with print film for serious work due to grain and lack of sharpness, but this one blows away any fuji or Kodak product I have used in the last 20 years.Prints great on fuji paper.

Strength:

Best colors I seen

Weakness:

Pricy but worth the extra money for those special jobs

Read the reviews and just finished my first 3 rolls on a job featuring bright colors, faces, glossy subjects (horses)and partial sun. The results are wonderful! Excellent definition, brillant colors, sharp, and easy to use.

Strength:

Outstanding Color

Weakness:

400 speed only and single packs a little pricey

Picked up my first roll @ a local Walgreens and decided to give it a try. Outstanding colors, I'm truly amazed with the color reproduction. I even had it developed @ a local Walgreens and every photo was full of colors that I shot. Dolphin tank @ the MGM Mirage. Picked up a 3pk @ Walmart for $9.00

Strength:

sharp color and good detail...going to use more of it after i test it under other conditions

Weakness:

can you say MUCHO BUCKS???? i spent $9.94 for a three pack..that's a good deal...if you buy it in singles i think it's like $4.97 (24) a roll....look for the three packs where you buy your film...

Have only shot one roll so far...not bad..since you can't find Royal Gold 400 anymore, what do you think this stuff is??? you guessed it...Royal Gold "kicked up a notch"...nothing wrong with that, R/C has alway done fine by me...used to use it all the time for wedding..after seeing the new HD...would consider going back to it if it weren't for the $$$$$ always liked kodak because it's made here in the good ole U S of A....some of there processing leaves a little to be desired...now they have this new "PERFECT TOUCH" processing.....but all the rolls that i have seen from that...are to much on the pink side...well...all that is another story for another day...sorry....the new H/D 400 .....GREAT..

Customer Service
